Logos AND Verbum: Resources Double Download?

I have the full feature set for Logos, with all resources downloaded.

I have installed Verbum, but told it not to download everything, since I don't want duplicate resources hogging my laptop hard drive. I assumed that Verbum would just reference the same downloaded resources that Logos has.

This doesn't seem to be the case. My resources in Verbum indicate that they have not been downloaded. Clicking on "Download Resource" brings it in, but I think this is just doubling up on my downloaded resources, which is what I'd like to avoid.

Anyone know how to get Logos and Verbum to share the same resource library files?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums. You can't. What are you trying to achieve by running both? I do so to run one a beta, the other as stable.

I seem to remeber that some users accomplished that by pointing the resources folder of one installation to the place of the same folder in the other installation - maybe it's in the wiki someplace or in rather old forum threads. Since the programs will have their respective routines for downloading new resources, hiding etc. I think it's unsafe to do so (for the record: I used one or both of my programs on non-supported external SSDs for years, so it's not aversion to creative solutions).

Mostly just putzing around. Haha. Wanted to compare the two. I guess it's not a big deal if not possible.

There are so few differences between them that you need to know where to look. Example:

    1. Logos has a link to an external sermon website that is not in Verbum.
    2. Verbum has three pre-set collections that are missing in Logos
    3. Logos has a Sermon Builder and Manager; Verbum calls them Homily Builder and Manager
    4. Logos and Verbum have different splash screens and desktop icons ...
    5. The priority of resources for the Key Article in Factbook differs. and so on ...

I did this a long time ago by customizing the default folders. Similar to how the wiki shows how to place the downloads on a NAS.
