Help: I am having problems in Mac Desktop with searches and Workflow

Hi Lane

When I go to search, the only searches that work are Media, Docs, Maps. When I run a search on any of the others, even using the template examples, I get a blank screen with nothing returned.

I'm afraid I can't see the detail on your screenshots.

Did you upload them using the paperclip icon in the forum editor?

If not, please try again with that.

Please enable diagnostic logging, restart Logos, try one of the non-working searches, stop Logos, capture the logs and upload in a reply to this thread

I think this indicates you have a corruption in, at least, one of your Logos databases that will need to be replaced - which is straightforward once it can be identified.

I'm afraid I can't identify it from the log information - hopefully someone else will be able to.

I think it comes from Autocomplete.
Exit Logos and rename the AutoComplete.db file at /Users/lanemckay/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/u16gq3il.3y7/AutoComplete.

Restart Logos with logging enabled and repeat some searches and Workflow edits. Note the date and time of each operation and upload the logs, before you restart Logos.

If autocomplete is not functioning, you can restore the renamed file after deleting the current one.

I cannot find a file named autocomplete.db anywhere on my Mac AND cannot even find where Logos is installed.

I am a Windows user and having to use this Mac until I rebuild my Windows machine, so my knowledge of Mac is limited. I searched using Spotlight for anything Logos related, and it did not find a single file except for the application icon which if I click it, it opens.

When I tried to drill down in the directories, once I started looking for library, there was nothing. I think I hae a corrupt installation but I dont know how to totalled uninstall what is installed.

So, in this moment, I am at a loss on how to proceed.

Any advice?

Thanks for your continuing help on this.

I am stymied at this moment.

I see a Library folder but it doesnt contain anything that I can see regarding Logos.

Dave gave me this path to look for, /Users/lanemckay/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/u16gq3il.3y7/AutoComplete, and once I get to /Users/lanemckay/ there is no Library folder leading deeper.

Does this help or make it more difficult?

Btw, I have used Finder to look for autocomplete on the computer and nothing comes up.

I changed the name of the Autocomplete.db file as Dave recommended.

I did a Search All Book for Christ at 4:56.

Search Bible for Christ at 4:56.

Seach Books for Christ at 4:57 and it still works.

Tried to open for edit one of my workflows called I-Beam Sermon-Teaching at 4:58.

No, same as before but apparently with no errors any longer.

The all and Bible search still doesn’t return anything and when I try to edit any Workflow, it opens to a blank screen.
I don’t know how to proceed.

Hi Lane, can you please test the same issue in Dashboard (formerly Home), Atlas, Factbook, Notes and/or Sermon Editor and let me know if you see the same blank panels.

Good afternoon Ali,

When I click on Dashboard, the screen is blank. Nothing at all appears. I even changed from light to dark to see if I was missing anything.

If I open a Workflow and try to edit it, the screen is blank. None of the workflow appears.

The searches that do not work are All searches, Bible, Factbook and Morph. All the others work.

Take a look at this screenshot of a book that I open in Library. The title is very different and I have lots of white space where I normally would have, what?

Lane, have you tried resizing the blank panels? That might fix it temporarily. Please let me know what you see on your end when resizing.

We're having trouble nailing down this issue since we haven't been able to reproduce it internally. However, we are actively investigating it. Any information we get from you and the other users are very helpful at this stage.

Ok. I tried what you asked and only one time did it open correctly and then no more with the smallest panel. Other size panels, nothing.

A workflow opens correctly every time, but the edit is what is not working.

Lane, I had the same issue that you did with the whited-out panels. Mine was most prominently seen when trying to pull up the help pages, but I saw it in other panes as well. I too am on a Mac and mine started happening when my desktop app upgraded from the regular desktop app to the Logos Pro (early access) version.

I tried messing with all the settings, scaling, colors, etc. The only thing that fixed it for me was completely shutting down my computer (not just "restart" but full shut down), and rebooting and re-opening. That seemed to to fix the bug for me at least.
