Why is Logos trying to connect to other devices on my network?
Looking for a Proclaim connection?
Looking for wireless casting?
Looking for wireless speakers for Read Aloud?
This would be good to know
I will try to find out, but I presume this has occurred after updating MacOS to Sequoia?
The quick answer is, "I don't know for sure." We're not collecting data from devices on your network. I just installed Sequoia, and I got five of these for various apps as soon as I rebooted, but I didn't get one for Logos. I don't know if that's because I'm running an alpha version that works better with Sequoia, or there's something unusual about your configuration (or mine).
If others get this message, or if something breaks if you "Don't Allow", please let us know.
I did allow because I didn't want something to break... but I was curious.
Do you have the MOBILE app installed on your computer? If so, I believe this is coming from that source rather than the desktop app. The reason it appears for the mobile app relates to proclaim (church services).
I just installed Sequoia
Apple announced a bunch of new security changes at WWDC 2024.
Granting permission the first time a program runs might be the new normal.
Developers might be able to find ways to mitigate it?
Local Network Privacy FAQ"> With local network privacy, any app that wants to interact with devices on your network must ask for permission the first time that it attempts that access. Local network privacy is implemented on iOS, iPadOS, visionOS, and macOS. It’s not implemented on other platforms, most notably tvOS. IMPORTANT macOS 15 (currently in beta) introduced local network privacy support to the Mac. WWDC 2024 Session 10123 What’s new in privacy is the official announcement. This works much like it does on iOS, but there are some subtle differences. I’ll update this FAQ as I gain more experience with this change.

Well, I can verify that this is not the only potential reason. I was beta testing macOS and did NOT receive this warning on my MacBook Air. However, when I updated my older Intel Mac mini, I DID receive the warning.
I can confirm that I only have the desktop version of the app on my mac.
