Hello,

I’m searching a ressource like Baylor Handbook on the Hebrew Bible, but concerning Genesis 24. Can someone help me out?

Thank you!

    Greeting Dimiter

Welcome to the forums, there are many folk here who will be able to help with a bit more information.

It would help if you explained a little more clearly just what it is you are trying to accomplish.

You might need to let us know which Operating System you are using. Often a screen shot helps. You can attach a screenshot using the paperclip in the tool bar of these posts.

    Greeting Mike

    Thank you for your message!

I am studying Biblical Hebrew and in my text analysis I often wonder why a certain word is spelled in a certain manner. In Logos I can find the information about the grammatical form, but as I am not good enough yet with my Hebrew, I often wonder how do I recognise the particular grammatical form. Let's take לֶ֥כֶת: with a right click I find out that it is a verb, in Qal, infinite, construct. I search a ressource or a way to know how   לֶ֥כֶת is recognisable as a Qal, infinite, construct.

For this specific chapter of Genesis I haven't found a ressource / workbook, so I was wondering if there is another way to do that trough the installed Logos features.

    Sincerely

Thank you for the clarification Dimiter.

Unfortunately I will have to stand aside for a language scholar to step in.

However the one thing I would remind you is that spelling, in whatever language, is not a definite it is range. Consider 'spelled' and 'spelt' for example.

I would suggest performing a smart search in Logos for how to identify a Qal Infinitive Construc. it might have what you’re looking for.

If I understand you correctly, you are asking how to recognize the morphology of a Hebrew word? Any basic Hebrew manner will provide that information.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    Thank you!!!

I’ll try the smart search and otherwise I’ll do it “the old way” searching directly in my hebrew grammars.

    Be blessed,
