Combining Tools

I was at the dentist today and wanted to think about anything else, so I started thinking about the tools in Logos and which ones I like best. If Insights and translation get a one-icon click on the sidebar, so should Information, Cited by, Explorer, Power Lookup, and Information. Shouldn't icons access these tools on that same sidebar so you don't have to go to tools or click a shortcut to open them up? For the people not using the AI tools, that would be a nifty shortcut, and since a lot of these tools perform similar functions, it might come down to people's preferences and which tool they like most. Since they all open on the right side of the screen, they should be available in the right sidebar.

But, then, now that favorites is a left sidebar, shouldn't highlighting be as well?

Something to think about: it would streamline the study process considerably, in my opinion.

What do you guys think?

I need to spend some time thinking about it. There is the drawback of having multiple occurrences on a single window if they are at the resource/panel level rather than window or app level. Is display real estate cheap enough to make that a reasonable tradeoff for convenience?

Those tools open in a narrow tile and can be moved from one side of your layout to the other. I keep the frequently used ones on the right side and the tile width is easily adjustable.

I don't like the sidebar for Insights, etc as it is too narrow and intrudes on book space.
