Library Query Question
In the Library when I do a find for type:"apparatus", results come back for both "Apparatus" and "Bible Apparatus". I thought the quotes would limit my results to only "Apparatus". Is there a way to accomplish this in the query? I do not want to use the facets in this case. Thanks.

try this
type:apparatus ANDNOT "Bible Apparatus"
Thanks JT.
Any way to force the shorter version to be exact with the match and not have to include the additional ANDNOT?

I can see their problem ... the main use in Logos is for Bible apparatus, but who would remember to type that? It's a conumdrum.
And I was surprised to learn Gottengen apparati are classed as latin (the presentation language, but greek lemmas) while Tyndale is classed greek (greek lemmas, but english as the presentation language).

I'm not JT, but no ... I solve it by just using a unique tag, easily typed in.

The reason I am asking is for a query to QA my initial tagging and also to check if Logos has changed the type of any books (eg monograph -> bible commentary). Resources with type "Apparatus" and "Bible Apparatus" as an example, I will have a tag called "apparatus" and "bibleapparatus" respectively. Problem is type:apparatus is pulling in both types and mytag:apparatus is pulling in both tags. I can definitely do what JT suggested to code around it, but was hoping there was a query operator I had missed that would force the query to find only the exact value to make the query more simple.
The feedback is definitely appreciated!

I have solved half my problem by switching to the extension syntax for MyTag. If only I could use the extension syntax for Type as well!
This query correctly lists all Ancient Manuscripts without my tag of ancientmanuscript but (incorrectly for my purposes) also lists Ancient Manuscript Translations without my tag of ancientmanuscript:
type:ancient-manuscript ANDNOT {MyTag "ancientmanuscript"}
Using JT's recommendation, this query correctly lists all Ancient Manuscripts without my tag of ancientmanuscript and correctly does not list any Ancient Manuscript Translations:
(type:ancient-manuscript ANDNOT type:ancient-manuscript-translation) ANDNOT {MyTag "ancientmanuscript"}
JT's recommendation works - thank you - but again was hoping to simplify like I did using extension syntax with MyTag.

Just as I do for Bible Commentaries ... but I learned long ago, my brain runs only in quirky mode.

That's because you're Logos's official user. Everyone else has to remember if it's 'Bible' or 'Biblical'!

Using JT's suggestion, here is the full Library query I created and saved as a Favorite. I will run this Favorite every month or two to see if I missed any initial tagging and/or if Logos has changed the type on any resources I own.
If you do something similar with your own tagging of each resource by type and want to use this query, search for MyTag and change the value to the right in the quotations to the tag you use for each type.

You could make a case (Suggestion) for {Type "Ancient Manuscript"} as that would be exact

FYI, the problem is not just with type Ancient Manuscript. Any type that is encompassed in another type causes problems. So Apparatus, Commentary, Cross-Reference Index, Devotional, Journal, Media Collection, and Survey all cause the same issue. Interestingly type Bible does not.
A Suggestion has been created: https://feedback.logos.com/boards/logos-desktop-app/posts/add-the-type-to-extension-syntax.
Thanks all!

You interpreted that the way I intended! I supported the Suggestion.
