Use AI Credits without making use of them. BUG?

Hallo,

I was given a message that I used 82% of my AI (ai) credits. First I had to figure out that I had AI credits, but secondly that I was using them very rapidly, 82% was gone after 1 sermon preparation. Then I figured out that it had to do with my reading on my android devices, where I use AI credits, without making use of them. I'll try to explain it below:

When I'm reading my book on my android tablet or phone (which I do my reading on), then every time I want to Highlight something, I select the word or sentence. Then a window pops up in which I can select the color to highlight it. But in that same window the AI translation tool is also translating the sentence, which are AI credits that I'm using, while not making use of it, because I do not read the translation, because I only wanted to highlight the text.

And Yes, I know that I can opt out of the possibility to use AI translation, then I won't use AI credits, but then I cannot make use of the tool when I want to use it, unless every time I need translation, I'll have to go to the settings, opt in, go back to the book, read the translation, and then opt out again in the settings. But this way the AI translation tool is not workable.

Also, because you can opt in this function, it was meant to be 'always on'  when you select a word or sentence, this is how Logos thought AI translation would best serve their users, to be always on. So the way it is functioning now, it uses AI credits while not making use of them. I think that this is not profitable for Logos and not usable for users (when you read a lot on mobile devices, which I do for sermon prep, studying and reading novels in the evening).

A solution would be that you select a word or sentence and then when the window pops up, you can click on a AI translation possibility. That way I'm in charge of my AI credits.

Or give more credits to everybody, because probably only a small group of people will 'overuse' the maximum set, or give more credits to people for who English is not their first language (because most books in Logos are in English), but this is maybe arbitrary.

Maybe technically this isn't a bug, but the way it is functioning now, the AI credits are not being used in the best way. Maybe this was overlooked when the function was introduced.

Hopefully this post makes sense, because English is my second language (maybe you can use some AI translation credits to translate it to Dutch and then back to English to understand what I'm trying to say Wink).

I'm using my Samsung phone and my Boox tablet for reading (and also my windows laptop).

    Hallo Bram,

I am sorry to hear you are having this difficulty.

We are not able to duplicate this behavior on our side.  Would you be able to share screenshots or a video showing what is happening on your phone?

You can email them directly to cs@logos.com if you prefer, just be sure to reference this forum thread.

    Bram, here is a suggestion.

Turn off the translation card in Settings > Show translation card.

When you need translation, you can still click the translation action button in the row of buttons, below the quick highlight options.

Turn off the translation card in Settings > Show translation card.

This should probably be the default behavior or a lot of people will probably be caught by this.
