Search Results don't have Print/Export option!
When I do a Bible Search using the Search Tool I want to print out the search results, or send them to a Word/Excel file.
When I select the Print/Export option I get a message saying "This panel does not support printing or exporting yet"
See attached screengrab, below, with the message.
Is this a BUG or is there a solution to the problem?

Hi Philip,
I cannot duplicate this. I am on the Beta running on a Mac. Can you explain your set up better for us and maybe the exact search?0 -
Is this a BUG
?It might be, it does the same here, however...
is there a solution to the problem?
Cmd+A, Cmd+C (move focus to Pages (don't have time for Word)) Cmd+Opt+Shift+V seems to work for me.

Is this a BUG
Depends on your definition. I'd call it incomplete programming.
I have a very important book search that results in the same thing...'not yet supported' message.
Here's the search-
Here's what happens when I try to print/export-
This makes the operation useless to me. I need the results printed to include in my SBL GNT.

You can use "Send to inline search" to view the results from within the SBLGNT Apparatus. This will allow Print/Export (probably okay to send into a spreadsheet) and also adding the search results into a passage list, which prints nicely.

This only happens under very rare circumstances (basically not a bug, but there are areas of Logos where Print is not yet developed to a satisfactory level) and most often there's a workaround for it. You would need to share your search query so we can see if there's a solution.

Thanks for your reply Doc B and the screengrab you've shown.
What you've shown is similar to the scenario when I'm experiencing the "...does not support..." message.
When doing a Search under the Books tab, and searching through "Your Books" or any "Collection" that I've created then this search combination brings about the "...does not support..." message (after selecting the Print/Export option).
What's the workaround to this?
How do I Export my Search results list when searching my books?

Thanks for you reply NB.Mick.
Please see my reply to Doc.B
PS I'm using Windows 10 and the latest Logos 10 v 36.1.6 software.

I don't know.
I'm still trying to figure if Mick's workaround works.

That's a (sorta) workable solution, if you don't mind M. de Sade came up with it. It will either print one hit per page, or it'll make me select the entire document (and the doc is too big to allow for a full selection).
Or, there's the option of opening seven thousand sections/subsections and checking the boxes to include them. If there's a way to check/uncheck all, I don't see it.
And, to add insult to injury, even if I spend the next four hours checking little boxes, the output still prints one freakin' hit per page!
also adding the search results into a passage list
Saving as a passage list (or any other option) is not available.
This inability to do a basic task (print/copy a search result) is a brutal oversight on Logos' part, IMO.

Additionally, and just as brutal (if not more), the verse anchors don't show up in the print export. That doubly compounds the worthlessness of the output (even if I can get it as output)...I have a hundred pages of differences with no verse references.

Where?
You and Mick are using different toolbars.
In your case, click the share icon just to the left of the small x at the top right of the panel. You will see the option to send to a Passage List there

Where?
It seems the Send to in the old menu doesn't support Passage List as a recipient document - I checked my old Verbum 36.1 installation but didn't find a workaround quickly. Thus I shared the passage list https://flshare.net/k65mo8 so you may use it.

THANK YOU for that...save me some serious mental cussing and a headache or two.

The toolbar in the resource panel - there is a new "dynamic toolbar" available to subscribers which was introduced in the Logos 36 beta but was intentionally not shipped to Logos 36 stable but will probably ship with Logos 37 (we're at RC1 level for this version)

The new toolbar is available in the beta 37 release to those who have a Logos subscription.
It isn't in 36 which is why you aren't seeing it.

It is available from the share icon
Or not. (See screenshot above.)

Strangely not in my Verbum 36.1.6 install for this search:
Sorry - i didn't think that it might be resource (type?) specific

Are there any plans at Logos to fix this problem?
Is there a technical person on this forum who can answer this question?
Don't understand why something as crucial as printing or exporting a list of search results, from within my books, is not available!
Please put this request on the Logos fix list.
Thanks.

Print/Export not being supported in Books Search is a known issue with search. I've passed your comments along to the search team, but we don't currently have a timeline for addressing this problem.

Bradley,
Thank you for the update.
I look forward to the Search Team coming up with a fix [:)]

I *hope* they understand this is not a minor issue.
It may not be a minor programming problem either...I don't know. But it is a BIG issue for users.
