WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO BIBLIA.COM WHEN LOGOS GOES TO A SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE?

Will non-subscribers be barred from Biblia.com?

Nothing that I know of ... it's a free site that advertises Logos' value along with the text (and acts as a destination for javascript refs).

Logos will not be 100% subscription. There will still be a free level, which is what Biblia corresponds to.

I did not yell at you. Yelling is an auditory phenomenon. Thou shalt not bear false witness.

Biblia.com requires login; then your bought eBooks appear (not a free thing; you bought your eBooks). I am wondering if the subscription system will affect Biblia.com.

And it is arbitrary and capricious. Some folks with visual issues need to use all caps. Some non-native English speakers also do better with all caps. Whoever made up that arbitrary rule was an idiot and I ignore it as hard as I possibly can.
Theodore is right...yelling is strictly an auditory phenomenon.

Well, I know I will regret this reply, but replies like this are one reason I tend to stay away from the Forums as it is less helpful and being taken as something offensive that should be over looked by grace. Instead of giving someone grace it presents itself as the world. We are held to a higher standard and are nothing more than travelers walking through this place heading home. If you are offended, ignore it and move on which is what I am doing now...

Er... ah... I agree with you or at least I think I do as I would not have made the comment about yelling unless I knew the OP very well. But I am puzzled as to why providing a definition to answer a question could be offensive. Could you please explain further?

Because the definition is arbitrary and capricious???????????????
Can we please keep this forum on topic? The original poster asked a valid question. Someone made a completely innocent light-hearted joke about posting in all caps. Let's not plunge the forum into an argument about the meaning and effect of posting in all caps.

Using capital letters is simply not yelling. And to say somebody yelled when he used caps is bearing false witness. Yes, people make many "references" and statements which are untrue; & their doing so does not justify their claims. Such charges are also wasting time with meta talk instead of addressing the actual issue.[:D] But I do wish you the best. Grace to you & peace.

There's nothing wrong with identifying common digital communication etiquette. However, giving an ear to listen when it goes against one's own thoughts and preferences requires a humility that is doubtless hard to muster.

Why am I reminded of my childhood dinner table? My parents disagreed on the pronunciation of gladiolas. So periodically dinner would be interrupted by one of the kids reaching for the dictionary to settle the matter. Of course, we all knew both pronunciations were given in the dictionary. This turned the argument into one of whether or not the order of pronunciations in the dictionary indicated a preference for one pronunciation or the other. In our dictionaries it did not. Having proven that point, the argument turned into whether one dialect was preferable to another ... into standard broadcast dialects ... into dialects as a way to claim membership in a group ... This argument was repeated 3 or 4 times a year for many years as my eldest brother was 11 years older than I. I eventually grew old enough to understand that the whole set-scene events' goal was not to determine the pronunciation of gladiolas but rather to show new creativity in support of the side you were on in this round. None of us had sufficient knowledge of the socio-cultural aspects of dialects to uncover a real answer. We merely knew enough to creatively cover up our ignorance.

Yes, I saw that and I didn't respond to you. I didn't think it was funny, but it wasn't out of line and didn't deserve criticism.
I responded to MJ, who should know better.
I've had a close friend with visual issues attacked online for using all caps. I don't respond well when others get attacked (or whatever you want to call it) for doing the same. Sorry if some don't like it, but I'm not backing down when someone gets accused of something wrongly, especially in a public forum.

I am still tying to figure out: gladiolus or gladiola? Gladioluses or gladioli?

I'm still uncertain of what I did wrong. I took no position on whether or not the use of all caps was or was not appropriate. I simply explained why the term "yelling" was used to someone who was apparently unfamiliar with the usage. I don't understand why that was offensive nor the eisegesis to which it was subjected.

to show yelling through text, it is very much accepted and known that you use all caps. When people read all caps, they read it as though you are being yelled at. This is common in All forms of reading.
saying this is not bearing false witness, that’s a big accusation that shouldn’t be used lightly.
