Praise for Mark Barnes
Mark, I cannot say enough good things about you.
First, you have answered the same questions over and over for the last several months, and displayed incredible patience and grace. I am dumfounded at some of the questions you receive that have been answered multiple times before.
Secondly, I am trying to figure out how to put this, but Logos made a great hire in you. I feel like you are our representative in the company - the user's voice. You work for Logos but you also truly care for us and our needs and wants - even the ridiculous ones. Thank you for that.
I remember in the old Usenet days and the early days for these forums when Logos was much smaller. Bob filled the role you are doing now, along with Phil and a couple of others. As the company grew, those guys understandably could not interact as much. It's so good to have you doing this. And being a very helpful forum user for years before, it feels like you are one of us.
Third, my only one-on-one interaction with you left a great impression on me. I was one of several you offered to show some things Logos was working on - this was last year. What you showed me became the dynamic toolbar and after I saw the prototype when you showed it to me, I was hoping it would eventually come to Logos and it did! I love it, by the way. But the most lasting memory from that time with you was a truly great person you are. If I lived in the UK, or if you lived in central Missouri, I would want to be good friends with you - really.

p.s. Tell Logos they should give you a raise! Show them this post.

Whole heartedly agree! I think Mark is navigating a tough time at Logos (business model change) with a lot of professionalism and grace. I'm sure he has an excellent support cast behind him - so kudos to the entire team.

I echo what Jerry wrote about Mark.
I get the feeling that Mark might be one of the few (top) employees at Logos who actually does use Logos on a daily basis (outside of prototyping, designing, and testing). He understands our frustrations and pains, needs and wants, and tries to reflect that back to the rest of the company.

Jerry has just about said it all, but I wanted to emphasize one word and that is Trust. As Bob Pritchet earned our trust in the past, you also have earned my trust through your actions and posts over this challenging time for Logos. You must have done an Indepth study of Job to prepare for this rollout!
You have done an incredible job with this rollout of the new subscriptions, and I also wanted to let you know you are appreciated for what you do for us. I am amazed by your willingness to do the Live Webinar's, they are so valuable to me.
I can't wait to see what lies ahead for us under your leadership of the Logos bible study platform.

As one of Mark's very close coworkers, I wholeheartedly agree. I can confirm that he's just as decent, thoughtful, and patient behind closed doors. He has a pastor's heart, and it shows. The experience of being on both a power user and employee gives him a depth of insight and intuition to draw from as well.
The only annoyance I have with him is that he's CORRECT so much of the time. :-)

I have chosen to say 'no' to a subscription, but I still read all the comments.
So, I have read all of Mark's comments I have come across.
What I wish to say, is Mark is an excellent written communicator. I actually feel a sense of peace while reading what he writes.
As a comparison, I feel the same peace reading Thomas Schreiner.
Thank you for your steady, intrepid hand on this changeover, Mark.

Mark is a great guy! I loved it when he jokingly said that he started working for Logos to protect his investment 😂😂😂 That was priceless! He protects his investment and in turn he’s also protecting the rest of us! Great job 👏 Many Blessings to Mark and the entire Logos Team!

Agreed. Mark has done a great job communicating and explaining (and re-explaining) during a time of significant change for Logos users, and he's done it with so much empathy, understanding, and grace.

About a decade ago, if I remember right, I asked Mark to explain the Qumran related Logos resources in one sentence. He did it. The sentence was perhaps a bit long, but it gave me the information I needed.
