Comparison of libraries quite difficult

The menu to compare different libraries is quite hidden and difficult to find. I also miss the opportunity to compare Standard libraries with leaders, preachers and researchers.
Thanks for your efforts.

Yes the page is quite bad. I don't know what they were thinking with it.
After several days of frustration, I just typed "2025 library" into the search bar on logos.com then clicked open the libraries I was (potentially) interested in. There are not so many at this stage before the denominational libraries are released that it wasn't too difficult to just from one page to the next to compare (and decide to hold off until the other libraries come out).

I figured the page molded into their make it look great at the cost of function and efficiency - I too tried to navigate the comparisons an the minimal screen space for comparison was quite frustrating.... It does have a nice look though
Edit - my experience is with the Subscription tier comparison as well

I am NOT buying until I can compare the libraries. We have always had this in the past and it helped tremendously in making purchases. Until I can see the difference in the packages, I am not buying. C'mon, Logos, help us out here!

This isn't true.

Sure, because the counts come from an "integration" with a "best-in-class third-party e-commerce search solution" (quoted from the post you linked).
(I believe you know the difference between an integration of a search component into a storefront and a replacement of "the entire storefront". Especially in the context of a discussion about library comparisons, which has nothing to do with search.)

That's not what I want. We use to be able to select libraries to compare the differences, and then that comparison would be on a full page, not cluttered with the "New Era of Logos" clogging up everything. This is what I see on my 14 inch screen. Do you think that encourages me to buy some expensive libraries? Nope! The advertising and "Select Your Library" stuff takes about 1/2-3/4 of the page and doesn't move out of the way. All I can see is about 4-6 lines of groups of books...then I have to scroll down a LONG TIME before I can even see the end. God forbid, if I want to click on one of the groups, so that I can compare the books in that category!
Plus I would like to be able to compare the 3 tiers on each "metal" = to see the Leader's, Preacher's, and Researcher's for Gold and then do the same for Diamond, and then for Platinum, etc. Only then can I make an intelligent choice to get the most for my money.

Sorry that I was of no help. Try contacting logos directly via phone? Sometimes they have resources, like comparison charts, that aren't available on the website.

The back and forth on the web technology being used is interesting, but it really doesn't matter. The problem is that the libraries are being limited to subscribers as a way to drive customers into the subscription model - but it really isn't easy to compare the libraries. For someone who's strongly disinclined to commit to a subscription to begin with, it's making it that much less appealing.

Yes, I like the old way much better. Much easier to understand and be able to compare what I have. With this new method, I am currently saving lots of money as the incentive to purchase has disappeared with the new way of displaying the comparisons.

Is there a way to compare across two types: say, Standard Gold library with Researcher Platinum library?
I believe in a Win-Win-Win God.

That is what I would like to see. Not only to be able to compare across Gold (or a different "metal) with the 3 tiers, but also the packages between the different tracks (between Standard, Researcher, Leader)

Me too. I started looking at options, but found it so hard to compare that I've given up. In the past, there was a comparison screen where we could choose a few libraries to compare what was offered in each.

Usually I spend a fair bit of time comparing libraries with a major release, but not on this occasion. It hasn’t really been easy or compelling. It will be interesting to see how the shift to the new model boosts revenue. So far, no purchases from me.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for sharing how we can make the library comparison more effective for you. We are listening, and working on the best way to solve the issues you have raised. Thanks for your patience.0 -

I'm in the same boat as many of you. Normally at this point in the release I'd be comparing between all the different libraries and determining what to purchase. Because I have to essentially look through each library, I haven't done that this year. Hopefully this will get remedied soon.

Not only is the comparison difficult, the (Verbum and) denominational libraries have not been released yet. The resources that I am interested in purchasing may be cheaper in a denominational library. So I will have to wait and see.
There is not a chance (in Hell Heaven) that I will buy anything till denominational libraries are released.
I believe in a Win-Win-Win God.

I believe the Verbum libraries are going to be released soon. Also, the denominational libraries are due out 1st Quarter 2025. I can't remember if they set a specific date or time frame other than beginning 2025.

Limiting the "purchase" of libraries to subscribers is one thing, but preventing potential subscribers from even "viewing" libraries seems completely counterproductive to me. Yes, in the course of reading hundreds of forum posts, I was fortunate enough to learn that a non-subscriber could gain the privilege of "viewing" the libraries IF he/she put a subscription in the cart, but I wasted a lot of time trying to view libraries before finding a post about putting a subscription in my cart. Even so, having to do that that feels a bit like a slap in the face. And then, as others have pointed out, the ease/convenience of comparing libraries has taken a big hit. Things like this, along with other discoveries (e.g. that the free mobile ed courses included with subscriptions are curated by Faithlife rather than allowing the subscriber to select courses of their choosing), has really dampened my interest in this new era of Logos.EastTN said:The back and forth on the web technology being used is interesting, but it really doesn't matter. Having said that, I do appreciate the many changes the Logos teams have had to prepare for this go around, and I believe they have all worked long and hard to be ready. So, while I am currently not excited by what I've seen so far, I'm still watching, waiting, and hoping that given a little time, the teams will have the opportunity to make tweaks and changes based on customer feedback, that will rekindle my interest.0 -

I don't thinks that's actually the case. Everybody, including nonsubscribers can type "2025 Library" and will be able to view all of them, with all details and also with "Hide owned books" functionality on the product pages.

I seem to remember that the full comparison page with "custom compare" between the different streams/tracks of libraries took a bit to come up last time (or the time before?). I contemplated setting up a simple spreadsheet with the information just lined up, but that would lack the owned books functionality. Thinking a few seconds more, in theory that's easy to do with a vlookup into another tab where one has imported the library.xml from a print/export. So far my thoughts about that, if anybody wants to try their hands - because then I thought this takes me some hours to build, test and write up for users and is still a workaround, surely Logos will come up with a page soon when so many people ask for it.
Have joy in the Lord!

What a terrible idea! A third party is not going to have the same degree of interest in making it easy for Logos customers. I doubt they will have a real understanding of Logos customers. I am beginning to fear that Logos does not understand their customers.

Thank you. I took a guess and went to Logos.com to enter "2025 Library" (without the quotes) and it did bring up a list of libraries from which I could select one and then view it, including the option of showing only the resources I don't own. So again, thank you for that. I know I had previously gone to Logos.com and tried entering a variety of library related text strings, none of which brought me to the list that shows now. So I'm left wondering if that's something that didn't work then, but works now, or if I just didn't have the exact wording needed. If it's the latter, how does one know the exact wording, unless they learn it from someone else (like NB.Mick) via the forum? While having the exact wording does bring up a list of libraries, I still don't see a way to compare libraries as we've been able to do in the past. If there is a way and I'm just not seeing it, I'm all ears.
Again, thanks for sharing the character string needed to view the libraries.

That's what you would think, but in this specific instance FaithLife appears to have set the bar pretty low.
