What happened to all those promises???

I just paid for a two-year subscription to "max" so I can "keep my legacy fallback option." Here in the forums we were promised, over and over again, that we could just keep using Logos without paying for a subscription ... that existing users who like the "buy books" model would be able to keep that model.

I do not want your AI sermon garbage--in fact, I think it's shameful that a pastor would use such a thing. I do not want your "autoslide generation" junk. I do not want your insecure notes system.

I just want advanced search and study tools.

And yet, contrary to promises made, I am FORCED to pay for these things.

This is why I do not trust Logos as a company.

I don't get what you mean? Are you saying you lost features that you had previously paid for? If so, which ones? If not, what is the problem, exactly?

What do you mean by forced?  The subscription is not required at all to keep anything you already have.  Logos will continue to be updated for bug fixes even if you don't subscribe.  Which has always been the case in the previous purchase model.  If I was on Logos 6, I was never forced to upgrade to 7, 8, 9, or 10 to keep the software update-to-date or working.  The subscription is only required for the new features.  If you don't want or need the new features there's no need to subscribe.  The legacy fallback license just allows you to keep any new non-AI/cloud based features that gets rolled out in the 24 months that you have the subscription.  It's seems that you may have misunderstood what the legacy fallback license is for or I may be misunderstanding what you're saying.

With others, I'm hoping you can explain your problem. Logos has promised to allow everyone who paid for their software to keep the software, without paying more. As far as I can tell, they are keeping that promise. And they'll keep updating the platform so it will function well for all users.

The Legacy Fallback License provides access to new features, post Logos 10. If you don't want those features, you should contact Customer Service and ask about a refund.

You will still be able to access all your books, use advanced (but not AI-powered) search features, and utilize the other advanced features you bought with your last features purchase.

The legacy fallback option is for the new (non-AI/non-cloud) features introduced in the subscription. If you're not a subscriber (and don't want to be one), there's no need to even worry about the legacy fallback option.

Yes. What made you think this had changed?

I do not want your AI sermon garbage--in fact, I think it's shameful that a pastor would use such a thing. I do not want your "autoslide generation" junk. I do not want your insecure notes system.

Then it sounds like the subscription is not for you.

I just want advanced search and study tools.

If you want Smart Search (which uses AI) then you will have to pay for a subscription; that feature runs on our servers and requires a subscription. Everything else you want might already be part of the Logos 10 Full Feature Set (which I assume you own)? What advanced search and study tools are you looking for that weren't in Logos 10 FFS?

And yet, contrary to promises made, I am FORCED to pay for these things.

    What things?

I can say that as a Non-Subscriber - I have not lost any functioning or resources with this "New Era" as of this time. While there are a few things that I see worthy of speaking out on, this area is not one of them. As of today, Logos has not stopped honoring said promises.
