Switching Reader Voice based on Content

Hi,

I noticed that for Logos iOS App, when reading content it switch Language voice automatically. eg.

  • If I opened a English Bible, pressing speaker icon, it reads in English
  • If I opened a Chinese Bible, pressing speaker icon, it reads in Chinese
  • ie. I do not have to go to iOS setting to switch Voice

I noticed that Safari browser on Mac, automatically switch voice based on language of content on the page.

Is there some option to set or some workaround, to have Logos Desktop for Mac, to automatically switch Voice based on content/book. I have to manually go to macOS settings to select the voice, and Logos use this voice to read content for all languages (which does not make audio sense, eg. English voice cannot read Chinese content, it simply race through the content to the end of the book)

Thanks.

PS: useful for those of us with poorer eye sight who need to read contents of more than one language. Thanks

JK

    Hi,

Some bibles have their own spoken recording. If I open ESV and choose read aloud it uses the recoded audio rather than the system voice. I wonder of this is happening for you

    Antony,

Like you, I have both ESV and LEB that comes with "Human" audio (as default) and option to select system "Text to Speech". What I was hoping, is  for Logos to do what they have done for Logos on iOS to be done for Logos Desktop for macOS.

    • If I am reading ESV read in English (with my selected option of either Human Voice (if available) or "Text to Speech")
    • If I am reading Chinese Bible, read in Chinese [:D]

... currently if my macOS is set to a "English Voice", and I attempt to read a Chinese Bible, The circular orange ring that points to the current word,  will race from starting point to end of the Resource. I was hesitant to call it a BUG.

It will be nice if Logos can do this, as Logos is selling Bilingual packages, such as: https://www.logos.com/product/370007/2025-jian-ti-zhong-ying-shuang-yu-jin-ban-tu-shu-zi-liao-ku?queryId=95105b0ed0848c01e5dd3c51dcccabd5

    Thanks.
