suggestion : Logos personal commentaries (similar to theWord Bible software)
suggestion : Logos implementation of a feature available in theWord Bible software - personal commentaries.
In TW, you can create personal commentaries that follow Bible navigation by verse, passage, chapter, or book - you can make notes on any such verse or passage. Your personal commentaries can be synced to follow along as you navigate Bible verses.
I look at it as automatic verse anchoring as compared to Logos notes and notebooks where you manually create anchors. The default anchor in many commentaries is the Bible verse.
In some ways notes are more flexible because you can anchor to a portion of a verse where TW's smallest unit is a verse. But most commentaries work that way, using headings within their verse's material - to address words or phrases.
A personal commentary, however, is more versatile in one way. If you navigate to a Bible verse and see there is no entry in your personal commentary, you click from a selection as shown in the attached image. The image does not show that you can press ctrl+N to display a dialog for more creation options. see image 2
A brief look at this can be seen in this video which is at 2:15. Another, more detailed video is here. There are other similar videos online.
Ultimately
- I would like to see this TW functionality expanded to be a hybrid of commentary-book - with the ability to make sub-sections, like chapters in a book or sections in a booklet.
- For example, @ Col 1.2, I'd have the standard verse note. But I could make sub-notes underneath it like "saints", "grace", ''peace''. That would make it so a longer note would not have to fill screen and screen in one note editor but be spread out in separate sub-sections.
- But that would be a dream for downstream.
