BUG: Overflow menu controls not working on Sermon Editor

When I attempt to "increase indent" in a sermon window that's narrow, the option is greyed out and I'm unable to. This only works when the window is narrow and the overflow menu is activated. I can still do it with the keyboard shortcut. See screenshot:

Upon further investigation, I realize that none of the overflow menu items work, though again, the shortcuts work. When I widen the window and thus expand the toolbar, the menu buttons work. It seems that the program doesn't recognize me as being in "edit" mode when I have the overflow menu open, even though the tools are for editing.

I'm on Mac with Logos 37.1.6. I've noted this issue before, but only tonight investigated it enough to pin down the issue. It's not huge, but was quite frustrating until I realized that the narrow window was triggering this apparent bug.

Can anyone else reproduce?

Kinda curious if anyone else is finding a similar issue? I'd love to get some awareness of the problem, but it could just be me.

I don't use the sermon editor that much and I don't do Mac but from what is grayed out, I suspect you aren't in edit mode focused on the sermon.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    I see the same issue.

It does appear that way - as if, for some reason, going to the overflow menu registers as not being in edit mode. That's what I'm guessing the bug is.

Thanks for reporting this, Dru! I can replicate this as well.

That is exactly right! We will get this fixed.

For what it is worth, I have the same problem on PC and came to the forums to report it. Took me awhile to realize the problem as well, since I use keyboard shortcuts for the most common editing.

Clicking the overflow arrows removes focus from the editing box. Clicking once back in my text will close the overflow menu. Clicking my text again will restore focus and the visible editing menu items will turn black and be useable again.

@Brian LeStourgeon I am having difficulty duplicating the behavior you describe. It would be helpful if you could share a screenshot.

Here is a sermon in a narrow tab. Menu is normal, cursor is present.

Then I click the overflow menu button. Cursor is still there (not blinking), but all of the editing buttons are gray and will do nothing if clicked.

Then I click back in the text at the cursor position. Cursor disappears. Editing buttons are still gray and do nothing.

Click in cursor position one more time. Cursor reappears (blinking) and all Editing buttons are "black" and ready to go.

@Brian LeStourgeon This issue should be fixed once we release the update for Logos Desktop version 39.
