Switching user question

I just installed a second user account on my computer with the free Logos basic license.

When I sign on to this account, I don't see the dynamic resource toolbar. It only shows the old-style fixed resource toolbar.

My logos version is 37.0.667. I have the update channel set to Beta.

I assumed that if I have the beta version installed on a computer, the beta features would be available to any user on that computer. However, it appears that the free Logos basic account uses the old toolbar. For both accounts, the About screen says I have 37.0.667. But the basic account looks like the older program version.

Do I need to run the Set Update Channel to Beta command on the basic account to enable the beta features?

This raises another question. I had assumed that the dynamic resource toolbar would be available to all users since version 37 was released. Is the dynamic toolbar available to users only with a subscription? It would be very confusing to have the old style of toolbar for some users and the new style of toolbar for others. This will be a teaching nightmare for any professor or other person who helps others learn to use Logos.

I was waiting to see how long it would take for professors to complain. It also seems to defeat the purpose of simplifying the interface to be more approachable for new users if they have a trial on the unapproachable interface. But, yes, they did make the dynamic toolbar subscription dependent. My thought process are very different than Logos corporate thought processes is a rule of thumb I accepted years ago.

I only realized that there was a difference in toolbars when I was trying to help an online student work on an assignment. He could not figure out how I was doing things in class, because my user interface was so different. I said that I have a beta version, but I wrongly assumed that in week or 2 all everyone would have the same user interface.

I notice a lot of confusion with students who are adjusting to the dynamic toolbar. Personally, I find the new toolbar less approachable than the old one. The location of some commands is not always in an obvious location. I suppose I will get used to where things are eventually, but by then FL will have changed the UI.

I much prefer the old software development rhythm where there was a major new version every two years. I only had to create new videos every two years. It is very difficult to teach students to use the software when FL makes significant changes in how to use the software in the middle of a semester. It is fine to add new features every few weeks, but moving things around creates a lot of confusion.
