I've seen this a few times, but often when I'm scrolling through a chapter, I press too long or my screen triggers a long press and I end up highlighting a bunch of text instead of scrolling.
That's fine because I can normally just click on the highlighted text and I have the option to remove the highlighting.
But sometimes, like when the selected text is across a chapter break, no amount of selecting (press a highlighted word, drag the cursor, drag the start and end of the selection, etc.) will display the trash can icon to delete it. I can change the color, I can apply different highlighting, but I cannot clear what is already highlighted. I need to go to the desktop app to do it.
Any ideas?
