Logos beta crashes after title screen.

I just updated to v38 beta 1, and the title screen pops up, and then the program crashes. I've tried restarting my PC, but nothing seems to be helping.

What is your preference setting for "open to?" Did you have a bible study guide open (and set to reopen)? Have you tried opening to a blank layout?

It just opens to the dashboard. I did try to open a blank layout. Same result

Either FL or a full fledge techie will need to chime in. In the meantime, if you are in need of using Logos, I recommend using another computer or the web app.

Hm. Your crash log says Logos can't find the bible study builder, which (since you indicated you start to an empty layout, so it can't be that it wants to load a bible study document first - in which case I would have suggested deleting it via documents.logos.com) seems to point to a corrupt installation. A reinstall is rarely the solution, but here it might be.

Hi Winston, thank you for adding logs! This looks similar to a crash we saw elsewhere, I've passed along the logs to our dev team to further investigate. I encountered this on one of my installs as well and a reinstall seemed to do the trick for me.

A reinstall worked. Gonna try and opt into the beta again and see if I have the same issue again or if it works this time. Thanks for the help.

I am cursed. New install, change to beta channel same thing happens. Just gonna stay on stable I suppose until I hear something different.

Winston, do you know if you were running v37.2 or v37.0 RC 3 before updating to v38 Beta 1? In other words, did you change the update channel to beta to update to v38 Beta 1, or were you already on the beta channel?

Hi Nick!

The repair option fixed my issue. I hadn't used the beta version up until V38. I just got into the forums and the beta version recently but excited to try everything out. Thanks for all the help!
