Seems slower than it should be

Reading others say that L4 Mac has almost reached parity with the L4 Windows side has me wondering why I'm not experiencing the same performance. Some mentioned that attaching a log might help identify what is slowing things down for me so I'm hoping that's the case and it's just a simple "fix". All told, I'm more than excited about the progress and development of the mac side, but would love to experience things with the same quickness and responsiveness I did while using it through VMWare.

What sorts of tasks do you perform with the app? Which ones feel slow?

Basic ones....running a new passage guide or a simple search. Even loading a layout seems a pit pokey (I still let logos load the homepage)

Generally, most books open pretty quick but even that has moments where I'm wondering if it locked up or what's going on.

Specifically what are the searches? How long a citation are you using for Passage Guide? Could you post your system specs? Just go to the Apple icon and "About this Mac"

I'm on a MBP 2.2Ghz duo with 4GB Ram running Snow Leopard 10.6.4

A passage search might be all of 2 Timothy 4 (22 verses) or just Deuteronomy 6:1-9. The shorter passages do seem a little quicker, but still not the same as the windows side.

And loading both the homepage at start up and then layouts from there is still a slow (spinning pizza wheel) process. Home page might take a minute sometimes as does the layout.

To be clear are you doing the 2 Timothy 4 and Deut 6:1-9 searches from the Go bar or are you opening a Passage Guide and searching there on its own? Could you post logs of the sluggishness along with a screen of your Activity monitor? during the same time period?
