Hermeneia

I am interested in the Hermeneia commentary series, specifically the book on Matthew 1-7. I cannot afford to buy the whole series and would like to buy books as I need them. Is it possible to do that with Logos or must I buy the whole set? Also, I see that you offer an upgrade containing the portion of Matthew that I am most interested in for $90.00. Can I simply buy the upgrade or must I already have the original set in my library?

To answer your first question, no, you cannot buy the individual volumes. The 3 volume upgrade set is meant for people who bought what was originally a 40 volume set, prior to the availability of those three volumes. That way they can get those new volumes without paying for the whole 43 volume set.

The upgrade set is meant for such people, but it's not restricted to those people. Products which require a licence to a previous product are clearly marked (like this one).

Many titles originally come in a bundle. Sometimes it is a permanent licensing restriction imposed on Logos by the publishers. Other times it is just a marketing strategy to sell whole sets at a time at first. In the latter case, Logos does eventually unbundle them. Bkropp. I tot needed this volume on Matthew for my studies. At some point Logos had it on sale or prepub (the whole NT set) for $300 so it worked out to be good value and much cheaper than the print editions.. You could try sales for a good price, they may not match the prepub price but they may offer something very good. Try Caleb.hazel@logos.com
