BUGS NOT YET FIXED

I found the following bugs on my Logos 4 for Mac and I don't see any more updates coming up:

It takes minutes (not seconds) to highlight a verse and it can only be done one at at time (sometimes two depending what I'm doing). I have enough memory on my Mac, so that is not the issue.
Cannot update my bible reading program after I change it. There is no response when I click on the box no matter how many times I right-click)
On the Home Page, there is no response when I hover and click over my daily bible reading. The program will not take me to the desired book and chapter.
When I hover over my bible verses on my notes page, it doesn’t bring it up.

I can’t use my preferred font on my notes (I have to change it from the default to my preferred one each time. This is after I changed it on the Program Settings.

Are these bugs going to be fixed before the deadline in October?

You might want to post this in the L4 Mac forum, the Logos 4 forum is mostly used for the PC side of things. Also, you might want to post logs of the things that aren't working properly for you http://community.logos.com/forums/t/6731.aspx

However some of these issues have been reported in the past by others and I seem to remember that they got fixed.

Might I ask which version of the software are you using. You will either find a Beta Number in the Bar at the top of the open program or, failing that build number in About Logos which you will find by clicking on the word 'Logos' on the left of the Tool Bar at the top of the screen.

I would second the request for logs and the version you're on. While the version that will be going out on October 1 is being pressed to discs as we speak (and is available for download right now), we're happy to fix any bugs that are reported in service releases. As noted elsewhere on this forum, there have been an average of 2.6 public releases of Logos 4 (Mac and Windows combined, including alphas and betas) since its initial release last November, so the likelihood that you'll see a fix for your issues soon is quite high, provided we have enough information about them.

I can confirm that Joseph's number 3 is correct. I just did a complete download and index yesterday. Clicking on a reading plan on the Home page appears to do nothing. It does open the bible to the desired place, but you are still looking at the home page. When you go to the layout your bible is open to the correct place sometimes. I clicked about 20 times and when I looked at the layout page my bible was opened twice. Definitely some problems here.

This is not my experience!

I set off with the MChayne reading plan at the start of the year. Being recalcitrant I fell behind so now I am having to do twice as much to catch up.

When I read the four chapters that are set for 'today' the links behave perfectly. Clicking on the first opens the Logos Box with my Bible (ESV) ready open.

When I click back to the home page and select a second plan that has the readings for February marked as unread - if I click on the link - the ESV (unseen) moves to right place. In order to see the effect of the click I have to toggle back to the Logos Box in order to read it.

It is like the programme is saying 'I've opened that Book for you once - what did your last servant die off?'

I'm not using a Beta Number on my Mac computer anymore. All the betas numbers were updated some time ago. The build number in About Logos is # 4.0 (4.10.4.5314)

To refresh your memory; these are the glitches I'm currently finding:

1. I can no longer update my bible reading program after I edit it. There is no response when I right click on the top right hand box of the date I want to update

2. When I click on my daily bible reading on the home page, it doesn't take me there because there is no response

3, If I type the book I want to read on the search button, there is no response either.

4. The only way I can get into my preferred bible is by clicking on the right hand of the search button (there is a picture of the NET bible which by the way is not my preferred translation. How it got there, I don't know)

5. I can also go to my preferred bible if I click on my daily devotional, otherwise I'm stuck looking at the home page with nowhere to go.

6. When I highlight a verse or a word it takes several minutes to appear (it is very frustrating)

7. On my notes files, I never get to use my preferred font unless I do it manually even though I set it up on Program Settings.

8. I cannot hover my bible verses on my notes, something that I used to do all the time in windows.

By the way, I have plenty of memory to spare so that's not the issue...

Are you referring to the reference that is in the note title (for reference attached notes) or references that are in the body content of the note? If it's the latter, this is known and will be fixed in a future release.

I'm not referring to the reference that is in the note title. That works OK; I was referring to the bible verses that I use when I'm doing my own notes. None work.

Because "fixed internally" means that it's fixed in our codebase, but we haven't yet released a version of the software that contains that fix.

Concur - in calendar view, unable to mark unread days as read, but changing to list view - can right click on day to mark read.

Apologies - unable to replicate - clicking on Chapter reference opens reading plan bible to chapter - can click "Mark Read" when done. Logs should be helpful to diagnose no response.

Curious what is "the search button" ? Perhaps "Go Bar" on Home Page ?

Screen shot and logs would be helpful - not know how to replicate from description - e.g. not understand "right hand of the search button"

Home Page blue bar has library slide show (cover and resource name); can click grey triangles below cover to see more library items - can click cover to open resource.

Apologies - unable to replicate - can click home page items and use menu choices (lots of items to open).

Apologies for simple curiosity - wonder if Logos is active window (with red, yellow, and green circles) ? Note: in Apple's mail program, if window not active, can try filing mail, but does not work - need to switch to mail program first, then move message.

Apologies again - appreciate frustration - unable to replicate - highlighting a bible verse quite responsive on Quad Core i7. Wonder what's open ?

This seems to be a slightly revised list, and different from the one that you posted at the top of the thread. Just to be clear - while I may make suggestions as to solutions and work-arounds - I have no official status within Logos and am simply another user of the software.

KS4J seems to have solved this for you - switch to list view. Does this work for you?

Please confirm

That when the Logos Window has focus and you are hovering over one of the Bible references in your plan that the cursor does not turn to a hand
If the cursor does turn to a hand and you click on the reference then clicking on the house icon does not take you to that reading open in a panel.

Do you mean like this (which works for me)

If I simply type '1000 Bible' I can select the command to Open from the drop down menu.

This on the other hand opens a search box in the main window (after a little time)

I am not at all clear what you are trying to say here! It might help if you could confirm the following

That using the 'Customise Button' on the bottom left of the home page you have 'Choose Preferred Bible' checked with a tick and that this appears on the home page ribbon (you may need to use the little blue arrows on the left and right of the ribbon to bring it into view. And that your preferred bible is set on the ribbon.
That when you type a reference in the Go bar the bible set in the 'Choose preferred Bible' is not the bible that opens in the panel.
That if you type 'Open {bible}' in the command bar eg Open ESV it does not open your bible. (note you will have to click on the house icon if it happens to be already open)
That if you open the library tag find your bible and double click on it it does not open the bible (note you will have to click on the house icon if it happens to be already open)

As to the net Bible if what you are seeing is something like this

Then these books, and commands come here as a result of being dragged from other parts of the program. If you drag your Preferred Bible from the library to this position then you should be able to open it with a single click.

This should make four ways of opening your preferred bible - please let us know which ones are not working for you.

This is certainly atypical if you are referring to dragging across as selection of words in a resource - I am sure that you will have to submit logs for this to be addressed. As far as I am aware you are the only one on the forum reporting this as problem - however you may have uncovered an underlying flaw which if solved may help others. Please take the trouble to present you logs to the developers. It might be a good idea to do this in a new thread dealing with that single subject.

As to the problems with notes - I am no expert on those so will leave responses on those subjects to others.
