Whenever I click my logos icon, my computer screen shades dark and I am forced to re-start my computer.  I cannot get into the program.  This is the first day that this has happened.

It will help the Mac devlopers diagnose your problem if you post your logs. See the video at the start of this thread: How To Report Bugs in Logos 4 Mac - Tutorial w/ VIDEO.

Please post your logs and the Mac developers will be able to help.

    Every blessing

Kernel panics are almost always a result of hardware problems.  If you bought apple care with your machine they provided a test program that will point out many possible hardware problems.  It is also likely a good idea to run disk utility and check that your disk protections and file systems are OK.  (Kernel panics are notorious for messing up the hard disk).  That said, without the logs the developers won't be able to infer very much from your system. I had the same thing happen to me. The problem was in the video driver, I
had to repair the hard drive and download the system update for the
graphics driver. Things are working now.

This is almost certainly a problem with your hardware, so you'll need to talk to Apple to get it sorted out (I'm sorry that customer service didn't immediately refer you to Apple; we'll make sure that happens, in the future).

Thanks everyone for your assistance.  I reinstalled my operating system and it seems to have solved the problem.  I tried to run disk utilities (before the re-install) and it shaded the screen and forced me to re-start.  Hopefully the problem is solved.  I'm up-dating my software to make sure I'm current.  Thanks again for your responses.

I'd still highly recommend that you take your computer to the nearest Apple store for diagnosis: if there are hardware issues, it is likely that they will recur.

  • Appointment with Mac Genius in Apple Store is free - Genius's have current hardware diagnostic software along with knowing what Apple Hardware has extended warranties.

For example, an older iMac had a power supply problem - screen dark - bit less than 3 years after purchase (without AppleCare), Mac Genius took one look at power supply, saw blown capacitor, and replaced under Apple's warranty for a manufacturing problem (otherwise would have been couple hundred $$$).

    Keep Smiling [:)]

I took my computer in to MacMedia (where I always go).  They ran a diagnostic on the hardware and they were the ones that gave it a clean bill of health.  They reinstalled the operating system.  Since then, I've had no further problems.

It is interesting that Sunday, the message was on Patience.  Monday was my opportunity to live the message.

Thanks again for all your insight and encouragement.
