Will someone please tell me how to name a layout in the layout section on the right hand side of L4

However It sounds like you want to create a hyperlink in an L4 note. The wiki mentions this topic but does not tell you what the hyperlink box is. So
1. Type out your note.
2. Highlight the words you want to turn into a hyperlink.
3. Paste the link obtained by clicking "URL" in the resource panel of the resource you want to link to into the hyperlink box, circled below.

Thanks Philip for the reply. I would like to hyperlink from a resource in L4 to Microsoft Word. Sorry I didn’t mention that. But is this the same way? I can’t seem to get it to work

Pretty much the same way. put the hyperlink into the clipboard (from the url button in the resource panel). If URL was the last hyperlink format you used then all you have to do is press CTRL + ALT + V while the resources' panel is active. You don't have to go to the menu. Go to Word. Now do the following (its the quickest way I know and if your going to do this a lot well worth learning the shortcut. It works in other MS apps too.)
1) Highlight what you want to turn into a link.
2)Hold down the CTRL Key for the next two steps.
3) Press K (Holding down CTRL)
4)Press V (Holding down CTRL still)
5) Release CTRL
6)Press Return
Once its second nature its about 1 to 2 seconds..if that.

Philip,
This process describes putting hyperlinks TO Logos FROM Word. I think the poster wanted hyperlinks to Word, from Logos.
If that's the case, do you mean that you want to create links to Word files from Logos?

If that's what the OP wants then Logos notes do recognize C:\Users\Kevin\Documents\filename.doc etc, placing file:///C:/Users/Kevin/Documents/filename.doc in the hyperlink box.

Use Ctrl + Alt + C and it will be in your clipboard. Then you can use that code to make a hyperlink in Word.

Ah...that's different from a hyperlink. Highlight it as you have done. Right click and make sure "Selection" is selected ON THE RIGHT (most people expect to see it on the left). Then from the options on the left select "Copy" at the top. Now you can go to word and paste it in.
(If your one who gets confused with more then one option you can stop reading here)
There are other easier ways. If you highlight it in Logos as you have done and press CTRL + C it will copy that text. There is also a tool under Tools>Copy Bible Verses that gets the job done very nicely. You might want to take a look at it. There is also a way that is coming shortly where you will be able to type the verse you wont into word and then select an option in Word that will replace the reference with the actual text of the verse. It's called a smart tag.
