Passage Lists and Graph Search Results

Hey There.

It would be nice to be able to apply the "graph search results" functionality to a passage list.

I have a passage list where I record all of the scriptures used in my sermons and in the Sunday services.

I use that to ensure that I'm preaching on a cross section of the Bible, since I don't always follow the lectionary.

It would be nice to be able to view my passage list visually, to see where in the Bible the passages come from.

The functionality has already been written... this is basically the "graph search results" tool, only applied to a passage list instead of to search results.

To clarify what I think you mean...

Assuming you have a passage list with the following distribution:

3 vv Genesis
1 verse Psalms
10 verses Revelation

You would like to see a bar graph that showed the appropriate count in those books?

That would be great.

Even better would be a "Result Map" with the verses highlighted in the appropriate spot within the Pentateuch, Poetry, and Apocolypse sections of the diagram.

I will try to follow your suggestion about posting to "uservoice"!

It's possible, but ugly (side note: if the options I show aren't available then it's because its a 4.1 thing which will be out shortly)

You can restrict a passage list to only search the verses in a Passage List. I used a Words of Christ Passage List, limited the search to surface text and did a wildcard search.

A couple of Caveats: 1) Wildcard searching like this is really slow!! Logos 4 wasn't designed to operate this way. Running this search and generating the graphed results took over a half hour... however, a smaller passage list will be faster. 2) I don't know why the search results shows 2042 verses, the passage list only has 485 verses in it but it looks like the results are accurate, even if the counting is off for some reason.

Logos really needs to develop a way to search that can be used for these types of applications!
