SR-1 Changes to Opening Reading Plan?

Hi
Before the SR-1, and since time immemorial, when I clicked on one of the references next to my reading plan, on the home page, the Logos Box opened with a single pane set to the right place in my bible.
Today both my reading plans open with a full Passage Guide for the chapter on the left of the bible and a panel for Explorer on the right.
Reorganising the box back to the single panel, quitting the program and restarting, does not reset the Logos box.
In the past I have rarely had the explorer pane open (probably only long enough to see that it duplicated the passage guide).
Has some change in behaviour been inadvertently hard wired into the new release?
If so please can we change it back?
By the way, attempting to close the Passage Guide pane before it had populated led to a crash with 'Force Quit' being the only option.

I noticed this as well Mike, and echo your sentiments.

I always use a custom layout for reading plans, so I hadn't noticed this. But I know in the Windows version, if you click a link to a Bible reading entry from the Home page it opened several things, just as you describe. This is why I created a custom layout, I didn't want those things to open. So if the Mac version used to open only the Bible, it differed from the PC version. Sounds like the new behavior is set to match the PC version.

This may be true, but it does seem silly!
- Bible Reading is not necessarily Bible study.
- The Passage Guide will often cover at least a chapter and take a while to populate
- Explorer seems to be a sub-set of the passage guide
- I liked it better the old way
- Windows users would all like it better the old way.
- If they must open extraneous panels couldn't they be more imaginative?

You are correct, the Windows version has always behaved this way. The fact the Mac version didn't was a bug which has now been fixed. A predefined layout will load as a result of clicking on almost every link on the HomePage if you have an empty layout.

This Windows user still says bleh. 100% of the time when I click a home page link I don't want a layout really, I just want a book. Same with books I'm reading.
My solution: Create a layout named "reading" and put my reading plan books in there. Save it at the end of each session and drop a shortcut on the icon bar.
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Furthermore, since it's something we do on both platforms, if you'd like us to change it, the best venue for the suggestion would be http://logos.uservoice.com/.

Well I did that and the idea ranks 195th on the scheme of things - I only had one vote left for it myself.
When opening reading plan only open the selected book
I wouldn't mind but the whole idea seems so illogical right down to the selection of extra panes that get opened.
Is it just daft or is it just me?

Thanks Thomas
I have edited my post above to include
When opening reading plan only open the selected book
so now I have posted it twice.
(I only hope I have done it right)

[I] FIle menu - open reading plan - click verse - opens Bible to verse for reading.
Another [I] - add couple shortcuts (e.g. close all and bible resource) - click reading plan from home page - opens 3 items - click close all shortcut - click shortcut to Bible for reading plan - opens to reading plan location.
Either way - 3 clicks gets to Bible reading plan without other stuff.
Keep Smiling [:)]
