Logos 4 infected my Word document on Mac

Yesterday, I used Logos 4 to copy some words from the Greek-English Lexicon into a word document I've been working on for months. Now, every time I open the document it closes almost immediately,  I get an error message that it closed and any changes I've made are lost, and it sends an error report to Apple.  My document is basically useless now.

    Catherine,

I'm only of limited help at the moment as I don't use Word, but I have a related idea.

You might download openoffice.org (that's the web address as well as it's name) and see if you can open the document there.

    OR

You might try opening a gmail account and seeing if google docs can open the document.

It sounds to me like your document is choking on some Greek formatting, and sometimes an alternative editor will do something that otherwise can't be done.

If you want me to see if I can open it in Openoffice.org (and if you trust me)  go ahead and send it to me at tcblack  with a gmail address.

If I can get it to open I'll resave it in a few different formats, including word and send them back to you.

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Wonder about version of Word ?

Microsoft has Mactopia Word forum http://www.officeformac.com/ProductForums/Word/

Searching for footnote crash found many Mactopia forum threads, including "File Open => Crash"

Note: Logos 4 defaults include copy citation and copy footnote (can change in program settings).

Also wonder if Time Machine setup ? (could restore older document copy from Time Machine's external drive)

Concur with trying to open word document in OpenOffice.

By the way, more Macintosh users are active in Logos 4 Mac forum => http://community.logos.com/forums/75.aspx

    Keep Smiling [:)]
