Reading plans--why the weird stuff?

I LOVE reading plans, use them often and have helped others with theirs. No better way to get through the material and edify your salvation!

However, the reading plan for the resource A History of the First Christians, by Alexander Wedderburn, has some weird stuff that I have not encountered with other reading plans. On many days, it skips around, for instance one day will be assigned p 198-203 plus p 240-251 and then the next day will be assigned the pages between those sections--p 204-239. What? What is going on here?

Why can it not just do the normal thing like it has with all my other books, and read straight through?

I suspect it's because pp 199-251 are missing, and that confuses the algorithm. I don't know why they're missing, but wonder if perhaps it's just the page numbers have been messed up. Do you have access to a print copy to check?

I dont have the print edition but I checked and it does have the pages. All the pages are accounted for, but they appear in wierd order as mentioned in the previous comment. This occurence is more than just that series of pages too, it happens all over the book in several sections. The example I gave was just one of many that occured throughout the plan.

From looking at google books, it appears that pp.198-250 are endnotes. These have been incorporated into the Logos resource. pp251ff are all bibliography.

A reading plan for this book should probably only be set up to read up to p.197 unless you want to spend several days pondering the bibliography

Damian's right. If we restrict the reading plan to pp 1-197 (just type 1-197 in 'reference range' under all passages), then all is well. It's obviously still a bug though, so I've reported it as such.

This has been reported as a bug to development.
