I haven't messed with a bunch of them but I know the commentary settings are not sticky like they are in Windows. I always restrict my commentary section to books I have starred 3 or greater and right now I have to do this manually each time. I just checked my Windows install (first time I have fired it up in a couple of months!) and they do stick. Funny thing is once set in Windows it appears to stick on the Mac side but not expand the section until cleared. I don't think logs will help in this case but I can post them if they will.
