How do I get my Word smart tag to work with Logos 4?

I have logos 3 & 4 installed and unfortunately when I use the smart tag option to paste verses in Word it automatically opens logos 3 rather than 4. This is inconvenient as I am using 4 and really don't want to have both open in order to use the function. I don't want to get rid of 3 either so wondered what my options might be?

Smart Tags are currently in beta testing for Logos 4. When Logos 4.1 releases in the coming weeks, Smart Tags functionality will be made available in Logos 4. [:)]

Thank-you for that helpful explanation LaRosa, you have given me hope. With all the work that has gone into Logos that was the best copy and paste function they have ever had. It always amazes me how easily they miss the basics. Unfortunately, the articles recommended by Andrew don't offer any current solution so we will look to the new version 4.1. Microsoft Office does not pick up the version 4.0 at least when the older version is still present.

The current solution is to use Copy Bible Verses. Personally I have Libronix 3 running in the background, if I am going t be doing a lot of copying and pasting because it offers a system tray icon for this function. Logos 4 does not.

From the articles I mention one point to note. Microsoft has devalued Smart Tags in Office 2010, they are just that little bit more hidden, but more significantly a software feature that has been devalued may no appear in the next version so Smart Tags or Actions as they are called in Office 2010 may not appear at all in Office 2013. Off course Microsoft may continue with them but its now not a certainty.

I am still in the "grieving process" of dealing with the things I have lost before I can appreciate what I have gained wtih Logos 4.0. I find the copy and paste function so awkward in 4, especially since I was so used to the smart tag option. I am also grieving the loss of automatically loading "workspace" which has been a very lovely component of previous versions. I know we have the layouts, but logos 4 has only become more awkward and slow to use as a result. If you happen to have a work around for that one, I would love to be able to do something to skip directly to my previous workspace and not have to go through so many logos 4 hoops. It contains so many potential distractions from actual work, that I am reticent to use it over version 3.0.

I have used Logos from the very first version and one thing they are consistent with, is how enamoured they are with building a sophisticated program rather than maintaining a usable interface. Thank-you for your kindness in taking the time to enlighten me on this journey.

If you exit L4 it will return to the same layout you had open when you reopen the program. This is assuming you have unckecked the show Homepage at startup option located in the customize menu at the bottom left of the homepage.

I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but you can also save any number of layouts. and quickly update them with a click of the mouse. Review this wiki page in order to better understand and work with layouts. I have found them to be much more productive than the workspaces in L3

Worked liked a charm Fred (unchecked the home page advantage), thanks for good intuition on that one. I will look over the layout options now that I am liberated from the home page. I do like the idea and have used them, just needed to get over the home page hump.
