Hi.

Can you make some recommendations on which iPhone to purchase.  Obviously more memory is better, but what is minimal and what is recommended?

Thanks.

I have a 32gb iPod and I've only used about 1.5gb after downloading hundreds of resources. Hope that helps.

Paul, do you listen to music or watch videos?

I had (still have) an iPod, which was the 16 Gb.  Had lots of songs.

Then I got an iPhone (first generation).  I had room for my popular songs, but could not include the Christmas repertoire I had.

Now, I have the iPhone 4.0 and I have both sets of songs, three movies of about 2 hours in length, a few books and photos.  All that is on the 32 Gb model.

If you have NO songs or few, and few photos and videos, you could probably do with a 16Gb.

Undoubtedly the answer is, buy as much memory as you can afford because FOR SURE you will need more then you think.  For instance there is this cool app called "Dropbox" that you can run on your computer and iPhone and it allows you to just drop files of any kind into it (from your computer) and then they will be available on your iPhone (either via internet access or downloaded onto the phone, your choice).  I'm finding that I'm dropping all sorts of documents onto the iPhone that I hadn't planned on doing (aircraft manuals (I'm a pilot), contracts, but more appropriately, I somewhere found a Word copy of Robertson's Greek Grammar in Light of Historical Research free!, changed it to a PDF and dropped it into the drop box where it is now available for reading and reference on my iPhone - not something I'd considered having memory for when I bought the iPhone needless to say).    Not to mention the more memory you have the more Logos resources you can download to your phone for offline reading without having space issues.

  • Thanks, Dan.

I bought the iPhone 4 with 16 Gb.  I am really impressed with what Logos has been able to do with this.  I am very happy with the decision to go iPhone (though I was reluctant to part with my beloved Blackberry).

Thanks for your advice.  Hopefully the 16 Gb will last me a while.
