Pronunciation crash...

Hi all, I'm not a frequent user of the Pronunciation feature, but I went to play the audio pronunciation of a greek word yesterday, but had L4 crash on me. I then discovered any audio playback crashed L4. I thought I'd post about it today, but a moment ago I found Lookup->Pronunciation also kills Logos.

Has anyone seen this kind of issue before? I'm not sure if it happened before the most recent update, as the issue happened right after I'd updated.

I have another (related or unrelated?) pronunciation issue. I tried the 'read aloud' option, just to find out what the Greek would sound like -- but instead of giving me audio the text starts scrolling super-fast with lots of yellow stars appearing, and there is no way to shut it off, except to press down on the x until the computer finally finds a split second to recognize the command and shut down the entire tab.

I tried Joel's version as well, but when I click the pronunciation icon, I seem to get no response at all: no audio, no crash.

(And, by the way, that Logos version above should be possible to copy from the About Logos Bible Software window! It's far too many figures to remember!)

So... how to we sort out these issues, if they're as rare as they seem to be? It seems funny that my hacked together netbook install is working really well, while my desktop is now broken.

Ideas?

Is this on a PC and is there a Logos4Crash.txt file in \Documents\Logos Log Files that you can attach to this thread?

Thank you -- we'll review the log.

Update: In 4.1 a popup error message will be displayed to the user instead of the app crashing, stating that the pronunciation could not be played. This can occur when the Windows audio subsystem issues an error when trying to convert from MP3 to WAV format; the actual error or how to fix it is unknown at this point.

You might try checking for updates to the audio drivers for your computer from the manufacturers site.
