Don't think I like this feature. I often read along the top line in the window, and the fade is annoying to me.

i have a developed a greater capacity for longsuffering that Todd, apparently [;)], but I really don't know what the fade is supposed to do--how it improves my experience. I also read top and bottom lines. But i would not really have noticed it one way or the other unless you told me and Todd expressed his annoyance. [:)]
I like Apples. Especially Honeycrisp.

I have the same question.

Ditto to Dan, I wouldn't have noticed till Todd commented; but now it annoys me too.
Meh. Everyone's a critic.

Another -1 on the text fade. It's one thing to do it on an image, but not merited on text. Is there some reason beyond design that we don't understand in your plan?
For the most part, this site is improving and I'm greatly encourage in your efforts!

Tried to connect today 10-09-10 at 8:20am (PDT) and got this error message (in both Firefox3.6.1 & IE8):
Server Error in '/' Application.
Is something broke, or are you in the middle of updating?

Working now. I've seen that error before. Server side mischief or maintenance.

It's still worthless on Android... You guys ought to hire someone from Tecarta. Ditch this and work on library.logos.com! It at least used to work well on Android.

Another -1 from me. If it really bugs y'all, you can switch it off by installing http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/88092 - works in Chrome and Firefox.

Oops - that should be http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/88092
(ah, I see I can edit the post above. Done!)0 -
Change that to a +1 for the fade. Having spent the day without it, I find that I missed it.
BUT perhaps it's just too big a fade? I've set mine here to being relatively small (height:5px) here...
(As usual, this tweak is online: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/88155 for Google Chrome and Firefox+Greasemonkey)
