Issue with Firewall or Proxy Server

Reference case #54859 - this is the case number from the last time I called in and the tech tried but failed to help the problem.

I'm working on a Dell Latitude E6510 running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit. I can run Logos fine when I'm connected to the network at work. Somehow when I get home and connected to the internet there, I am not able to run Logos. I can get it to run if I hold down the CTRL key however I would like it to be able to be connected to logos on the internet when I'm at home as well. Is there anyone else who has had this problem and can help me.

The tech I talked to at logos figured it was something in my firewall settings. I've had my IT person here at the college check it out and says it should work at home.

Patrick. Can you tell me what brand, model and revision number (look on the tag for something like REVb) is your router.

Also can you tell me about any software settings that are unique to home that are not happening at the office or vice versa?

And finally.... are any other programs affected in any way?

For my benefit.... College is work? and Home is not at college right? Sometimes internet routing policies can get easily missed and Logos uses a few nonstandard ports for transmission of data.

College is work - I'm a professor. I will check on the model # etc of my router.

I have a D-Link - DI524 running version 5.00

The IC label on it is: 4216A-DI524E1

I'm not aware of any other software that have been impacted.

Good news. I went into my Internet settings on my computer and went to the Connections tab and in LAN settings checked the box that said "automatically detect settings". It was not checked. I'm not sure if this will affect anything at work - but I Logos now works at home.[:)]

Glad to hear that Patrick.

Respond here if more issues crop up. I suspect there shouldn't normally, however you may find that a reboot is needed to set your system to each location's internet settings (shouldn't but might be necessary).
