Yes, you can manually update to 4.1. Not sure if this would help your problem, but it's sure worth trying, and 4.1 has some great new features and bugfixes anyway. Here's the link to install the latest stable release (which is currently 4.1 SR-3): http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/LDLS4Installer/Logos4Setup.exe
If that doesn't fix your problem, please enable Diagnostic Logging and post your log files to help in troubleshooting what's going wrong on your system. See: http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging
Thanks for replying ran update but made no difference can run the progam without internet otherwise signing in spins for ages before stopping.

Hi Steven, there's no crash info in that Logos4Crash.txt. Could you collect the other log files from a session in which Logos hangs (re-enable internet if you need to, to reproduce the problem). Zip them together into one file and post here. The files I'm interested in are Logos4.log and Logos4Indexer.log. Make sure you grab the log files before starting Logos back up again, because they'll be overwritten by the new session. Thanks!
Hello again there is no Logos4Indexer.log file in the folder[*-)]
1273.Logos4.log
If you have no Logos4Indexer.log then it sounds like installation didn't complete properly, and indexing didn't start. Could you also post your Logos4setup.log and DigitalLibraryInstall.log (assuming those exist in your Logos Log Files folder).
Just curious: Are you running the Windows version in a virtual machine on the Mac? I saw that the pathname for your Logos exe file was C:\Users\SteveiMac\AppData\Local\Logos4\System\Logos4.exe
Regardless, the exception error in your log file is a complex one which I've not seen before and can't find a solution to by Googling the forums. It might be a variant on this one, but I'm not sure: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/21145.aspx. If it is the same, then the advice Bradley gave might fix the problem for you:
Delete the file C:\Users\SteveiMac\AppData\Local\Logos4\System\Logos4.exe.config
Then right-click C:\Users\SteveiMac\AppData\Local\Logos4\Install\Installers\Logos4.msiand choose the Repair option.
I am happily unused to trouble shooting KLogos having never had any bother before I am rebuilding the index will post the log file when finished late here in the uk off to bed now will leave it chugging away.

I am running it on a full copy of windows 7 on a bootcamp partition I already tried the repair thing
Yes, it is rather the exception than the rule, though of course the forum is filled with troubleshooting threads, since the vast majority who have no problems don't have any reason to post. Sorry you've run into this snag, but I hope we can get it sorted out for you quickly. It might need the developers to take a look at it if you're still having problems after rebuilding the index.
Didn't delete the Logos4exe.config though will do it if indexing doesnt work.
I don't know if my problem is the same as yours, but the symptoms are similar. After Logos tried to install the last update, it would get stuck during the signing in process. I too could load without the internet. I also noticed I had programs that weren't really closing-especially, but not limited to, Firefox. I discovered there was something going on with connecting to the internet from any program. Anyway, I shut-down my anti-virus program, and it resolved the problem. I then uninstalled and reinstalled my anti virus software. Logos loads up normally now.
