Logos 4 - Text Comparison Flashes, then program unresponsive

I was reading Habakkuk today and as I was scrolling down to chapter 3, Logos 4 became real slow. Then Text Comparison started to flash on and off - that is, the texts appear and disappear. Then, it alternated between display of abbreviations of the bibles (NTL, ESV, NAS) and the full name of the bibles (New Living Translation, English Standard Version, New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update). The actual bibles were NLT, ESV, NIV, NET, NAS.

Meanwhile, Logos 4 was sluggish and would not close. I had to end the process Logos4.exe*32 in order to close out the program, as nothing else worked. I had no other applications running. I checked memory usage and it was not an issue.

Update: This occurs when Logos 4 window is at maximum. When I minimize the window, Text Comparison behaves.

David, the error is an out of memory error that should only be triggered when the program triggering it tries to allocate memory and can't find enough of it. You do seem to have enough memory to run the program without trouble.

The behavior suggests a video issue: video memory, a driver problem, or something like that. However the triggering program seems to be part of the Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation so there may be something wrong with that.

Have you tried to reboot and retry?

Have you hadany updates to software or to a video driver recently?

Thanks for your reply. I was also thinking that perhaps my video hardware or software was the cause. I did re-boot and loaded the same workspace into Logos. It behaved erratically as before. I had checked the memory use again in Task Manager and observed an interesting behavior. As the Text Comparison flashed on and off in Logos 4, my memory usage continued to increase. Then, when I changed the window size of Logos 4, the memory usage started to drop. See the screenshot below. I've never seen anything like it before.

Using the same workspace on my notebook, Logos behaves normally; therefore, it must be my desktop computer. On my notebook, I created and saved different workspace in Logos, but included the NLT and Text Comparison with the same bible versions as in the previous workspace. This morning I loaded the new workspace on my desktop and it behaved normally.

I had also tested my memory with Memtest86+ version 4.10 for 13 hours. It recorded only 1 error.

Other than the recent Logos 4 update, the MS security updates, and Adobe Flash update, I don't recall any others. I've been using the same video drivers for the past 2 months.
