Palette issues 4.2 Beta 1

I had a palette duplicate of "inductive" which I had created numerous personal styles in- I decided to create a palette called "partsd of speech" - I created the palette but instead L4 created a dup of "whyndell" and auot named it "whyndell (2)".

I decided to delete "whyndell (2)" but it deleted both my palette's with "whyndell", which yes means I lost all my hilited text.

So I decided to re-create "whyndell" which was a dup of inductive again- went fine, then I recreated "parts of speech", yep you guessed it got 2 "whyndell" palettes again, and yes if I delete "whyndell", they both disappear- but now "parts of speech" reappears.

 

Can anyone else see if they have palette issues with this beta.

Edit: and it looks like it will not allow me to display more than 5 palettes at a time- anything over 5 is hidden.

    This sounds like an issue that has been going on for a while. I don't remember how far back in the beta process (maybe 4.0d). What I have found is that if I close L4 immediately after duplicating the palette and restart then all is OK. However, this may be something added to the previous palette duplicating issue.

    I'm pretty sure that Melissa acknowledged it and put it on the list.

    This is an ongoing issue but merely a matter of display. Create your new palette - it looks like you have a duplicate not what you requested. Close the pane. Reopen the pane and everything looks right - your new palette was actually created on the right name; it is just the display that is incorrect.

    that does seem to be the issue- but I have to rebuild my personal styles now.

    It may be a good idea to have a reminder section "Continuing Issues" placed in the notes for the Beta releases, the reason being between work and everything else- these things get forgotten after a while.

    Help an aging brother out. [:D]
