clicking "margins" in full screen mode selects a word when corresponding words is active

I use 3 monitors and need to change focus sometimes by clicking in the book I want focused.

But when I have turned on both (1) full screen and (2) corresponding words — when I click in the "margins" (below the last row of text or in the blank space to the left of column 1) it not only focuses the book (which I want) but also selects a word for corresponding words (which I don't want).

I do not expect clicking below a word to select it for corresponding words because often I already have a word selected for corresponding words. I don't see the logic for Logos affecting the corresponding words by clicking below words or to the left of words in column 1.

I am trying to train myself to click between columns but it cuts down on the screen real estate available for focus-clicking in my work style. It forces me to think about Logos processes, putting up speed bumps for my Bible study processes. My old brain has limited capacity to deal with this kind of thing.
