I just changed from an android phone to an. I also have a generation nine iPad. How do I set these two devices up to sync between? I thought when taking that I was told that they would between each other automatically in particular tabs. That’s not happening.

Assuming you are logged into the same Logos account, both should sync with the server, and therefore with each other, yes.

The exact answer depends on what you want to sync. Do you mean, you want to sync the layout (which resources are open at the same time)? I believe mobile layouts do not sync at all.

Or did you mean syncing your location in the book? For that to work properly, you have to close the book after you read it, otherwise it will stay on the location you were looking at last while using that device and will not go to the location you were looking at later, on a different device. Reason for that is probably that some people might be working on different projects on different devices. I think a Kindle device would ask if you want to sync to the location on a different device if you were reading further on that, but Logos does not have that ability. It might a good feature suggestion for Logos - although on a Kindle one typically read through a book once from cover to cover, but in Logos there are many times where one just reads small parts in different places (in a Bible, Lexikon or even commentary).

Just like the Titanic, the mobile app is unsyncable. 🙄

Is the iPad or iPhone supposed to sync with my PC desktop version?

yes! If you tell us exactly what you would like to sync, it would be easier to answer your questions.

Yes, both your iPad and iPhone should sync with the PC desktop version of Logos if you're logged into the same account on all devices. However, syncing may not always work exactly as expected depending on what you're trying to sync.

If you're trying to sync the layout (such as which resources are open at the same time), that might not sync between mobile and desktop devices. But syncing your location in a book should work, as long as you close the book after reading it on one device to allow the sync to happen properly.

If you're facing issues with syncing, ensure you're logged into the same account across all devices and check that syncing is enabled in the settings of each device.

Thanks everyone. Very helpful. I'm trying to sync layouts between the iPhone 16 and iPad Gen 9. I thought that should happen automatically. Am I missing a setting or something?

As I said, as far as I know, mobile layouts do not sync at all.

    Hey Tom!

Layout syncing between mobile devices can be tricky, as it's not fully supported yet. Ensure syncing is enabled in the settings and log out/log in again on both devices. If it still doesn’t work, syncing book locations should do the trick! Let me know if that helps! 😊
