syntax search for Aaron as subject of a verb of speaking?

how to search for references where Aaron is the subject of a verb of communication, including references where Aaron is not explicitly mentioned. I believe this would require a search by Louw-Nida category as well as a syntax search for subject (Aaron explicit or pronouns referring to him) Is this kind of search possible?

The Louw-Nida coding is strictly Greek New Testament. For the Old Testament, one would have to use the sense from the Bible sense lexicon. The grammatical role of subject is available only in the clause search so in a clause search run the search string subject:Aaron AND sense:to communicate @Graham Criddle gave the answer you probably actually want. It contains only direct speech. My answer also includes indirect speech and narration of speech events. However, I would consider using a semantic role rather than a grammatical role i.e. agent:Aaron AND sense:to communicate

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Are you asking for occurrences of Aaron speaking - or is it more complex than that?

If that is what you are looking for then the search string speaker:Aaron should work
