Logos asks: Would grammar-checking be useful in Notes and Sermon Builder?

We're considering supporting third-party grammar and spell checkers to Sermon Builder, Notes, etc.
Would this be something that would be useful to you? If so, which third-party grammar and spell checkers do you primarily use?

I'll use whatever works with Logos!
What you don't ask is whether or not I consider spell-checking and grammar the highest priority. No, I do not. Allowing non-Scriptural texts in Sermons, Lessons, and Workflows even if limited to versified texts is what I see as the highest priority enhancements that would add appeal to the broadest customer base. This is not my personal highest priority which is allowing for the multiple passages of a liturgical date.

Grammarly
I have historically used Grammarly, but I might drop this for Apple intelligence.

I would like to see where we could have our own "spell check" (I guess that's what it would be called). For example… I would like to be able to enter "NTT" in Notes or Sermons and have Logos translate that into "New Testament".. or "jc" and Logos would translate it into "Jesus". MS Word has this (I think it is called Auto Correct maybe) whereby we can add to the dictionary and thus help our typing. I call it a "typing shorthand". I use it and love it! Wish we could get this in Logos.

We definitely need the ability to change the spell check language for a note (not sure if that is possible in sermons, as I haven't used that). Without that ability, grammar check or even spell check is worthless for anyone working with more than one language (or even occasionally copying something somewhere else into a note that is not in your first language). That would be a much higher priority for me than to improve what spell/grammar check can do.

I'm not worried about grammar checking, as I don't use manuscripts. I have notes, some of which make not sense to anyone but myself.
However, the spell-checking in sermon builder and notes is lacking. It has no guesses when I type "teh" when I meant "the." There are others that dumfound me as well. Simple typos and misspellings.
Would love it if that were improved someday!iMac (2019 model), 3Ghz 6 Core Intel i5, 16gb Ram, Radeon Pro Graphics. 500GB SSD.

I'm not interested in grammar or spell-checking
While I am most familiar with Grammarly, when it comes to my notes and how I use Sermon Builder, having a spellign and grammar check is low on my priority list. However, if Sermon Builder and Notes were to become more word-processor-like, then my position would completely change.

It's unlikely we'll support this, to be honest, but there are plenty of alternatives. On Mac, it's built into the operating system: System Settings → Keyboard → Text Replacements. On Windows, there are third-party solutions such as TextExpander, PhraseExpress, FastKeys, and Beeftext (the latter is free).
Unfortunately, so far as I know, none of these currently work in Logos. If we did support grammar checkers, these applications should also start working.
There is also AutoHotKey. It's very powerful, and you can set it up so that specific phrases are assigned to keyboard shortcuts (e.g., you wouldn't type NTT but something like CTRL+ALT+N). I haven't tested that in Logos, but I imagine it would work today.

Windows and Mac have this built-in. If we supported third-party grammar checkers, this functionality would likely start working, too.

Nor do I!

I'd be happy with whatever works with Logos, although I am a Grammarly Pro user and do love it.
But also I think working on Notes formatting would be good. Just yesterday I was taking notes during the sermon, and really hate how, once you turn on bulleting for example, you're stuck with it. so the only way to work around it is to enter an initial list like this:
Point 1
Point 2
Point 3
(Which I know are coming) and then go back and start bulleting within each point… which distracts me as I'm doing this while my pastor is introducing his material for the day's sermon.
So when I insert a bullet, I should be able to click Enter at the end, then it starts a new bullet, BUT THEN BY CLICKING THE BACK OR DELETE BUTTON it returns to the start of the line without bulleting it (this is what Word does). What it does right now is the back button simply clicks me back to the end of the last bullet and forces a new bullet…
AAAARGH! 🙄
Anyone else?

Would this type of third party "checker" be in the AI/Cloud camp - thus not LFL qualified? Knowing that may influence some users (myself included) on our response to your poll….

I'm happy with whatever works. The one thing I would ask for is the ability to turn spell-checking and grammar checking off for text within quotation marks. This is particularly critical if there's any sort of auto-correct involved. I often quote from older sources, and it's very frustrating when any of the software in my work flow tries to "correct" the grammar or spelling of great authors of the past.

It certainly would be if we were providing the grammar checking ourselves.
But that's not our intention. Our intention only would be to make Sermon Builder accessible to third-party or OS-level spelling and grammar checkers. From our perspective, that wouldn't be an AI/cloud feature.

As I read through the responses and have done some thinking on my own, I would totally use whatever you would have work with Logos.

Something else
Since I use a MacBook Pro I might suggest using Apple Intelligence.
