iOS Mobile swipe creating highlights

I'm still seeing an issue where I am occasionally swiping to scroll a resource (usually a Bible) in the logos mobile app on iOS and it creates a highlight instead of scrolling the text. Usually scrolling works fine and attempts to manually reproduce this always fail. But here or there it seems to get into a highlight mode and create an unwanted highlight. The selected text menu never appears, so this isn't just a finger fumble issue. Is this something others are ever seeing. Very annoying!

I believe I have discovered when this issue happens. If you double tap on a word and then immediately start swiping, the mobile app will actually enter highlight mode and start highlighting wherever you swipe. You just have to start swiping before the app selects the text from your double tap. Is this the expected behavior? If it is please add an option to disable this as I apparently accidentally double tap sometimes and end up highlighting by accident when I am trying to scroll the text.
