Emails of followed threads

Some of the emails for new posts I get have the text of the post; some only have links to the discussion. What determines whether the text is included in the email or not?

In this instance, my best guess is that you have notifications enabled for both new posts (in a category you're following, for example).

In this instance, my best guess is that you have notifications enabled for new comments (in posts you've participated in or have bookmarked).
As a result, you may be doubling up on notifications. With so many notification options, it could easily become overwhelming if doubled-up.
