How do I use the Morph search to display ONLY the verses with one stem (conjugation)?

Hello everyone,

I was trying to find all the Hebrew Bible verses with the Qal stem. I tried to use the query option using

morph.sesb.h:Va??????+S

However, this displays all the verses containing the Qal stem verbs and the other stems. I want to exclude verses that contain both Qal and the other stems in Hebrew; I want verses with Qal stems only. I called Customer service, but they were not able to help me. I have Logos 10 and the Biblia Hebraica St.

In short, how do I use the Morph search to display only the OT verses with one stem (conjugation)?

I appreciate your taking the time to read this!

I'm not sure that this is possible. I would love to be corrected if it is possible. Bur why would you want this?

I've not got the time to test but I would run two searches:

    1. Run a search for Hebrew verbs with Qal stems
    2. Run a search for Hebrew verbs not Qal stems
    3. Merge the results taking only entries in search 1 but not in search 2

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I believe you would need to create Passage Lists in the first two searches, then do the merge.

Is this what you are looking for?
    morph.sesb.h:Va??????+S NOT morph.sesb.h:V[^a]??????+S
The first part of the query searches verses with Qal and the second, which the term NOT excludes, searches verses with any of the other stems.
