Setting the layout

I've created my own preferred layout for Bible study. However, if I do a new passage search or search from the home page, the screen loads and the layout has gone back to the default layout for Logos 4. Is there a way to set it to stick on my layout? I've saved the layout with it's own name, but this does not seem to help.

There's no way to make the home page open up your saved layout when you do a passage search from it. (That has been requested but no acknowledgement from Logos that they've accepted the idea and will implement it in a future release has been forthcoming.)

However most people who work avidly with Layouts open the passage directly from within their layout, either from the Bible window which drives all the others, or from the Passage Guide window if you've got one as part of your layout. If you've got the different resources linked together on the same link set, they will all scroll together to that same passage.

Thanks Rosie. That's crazy that we can save our layouts but not have them load automatically upon searching from the homepage. Should be an easy fix for them.

Yes, it should be easy to fix. Layouts are used for all kinds of things. You could have a layout for your devotional reading, etc. So not all of them are amenable to opening from the home page. But you should be able to designate one of them as your preferred layout to open on a passage search from the hope page. Right now they just open their default one which is meant to be a way to get newbies into the program. Once people become more advanced users though, few of us use the home page anymore. (It might be because we can't hook up our favorite layout to it. Hmm...I'd never thought of that.)
