Treatment of Beth-shean/Beth-shan

The map name can be either and Place:Beth-shan will find Beth-shean. But Place:Beth-shean is not recognised, nor are the two treated as aliases e.g. HarperCollins states "Beth-shan (beth-shan´; also Beth-shean)", and similarly in other Bible Dictionaries.

Beth-shan will often find Scythopolis.

Factbook does not help, implying that Beth-shean is a City whereas Beth-shan is a Town, whilst there is a Timeline with Beth-shan as a City.
