how do I save a note file

I am a new user to Logos 4. Last week when I made notes they seemed to automatically "save" themselves.
Today after making notes, naming the title, and closing the file with the red x, the file disappeared. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Note files do automatically save themselves.
A red X is a delete button. If you accidentally delete something try ctl-z immediately to attempt an undo.
