Bug: Inline search on prayer list starts search prematurely

On the desktop app, when I do a prayer list inline search, I would expect the search to start after I typed the search string and press the enter key. Instead, as I am typing in character(s) into the search box, as soon as enough characters makes a match (it could be a quick as entering the first character), the focus jumps to the first matched prayer name and the rest of the characters that I type will replace the existing prayer name string in that first match (instead of being added to the search box). There is no way to undo or recover what the original prayer name was. This bug has been around for years.

Because the prayer list lacks display and sorting features, I have been doing workarounds with adding more than just the name in the prayer name field. Sometimes I add the initial date and prayer request with their name. I do not want to lose this information during this search.

Please trigger the start of the prayer list search after the enter key is depressed as stated in the Logo's prayer list training.

Hi @Weldon Wong - and welcome to the forums.

when I do a prayer list inline search

Is this using the Find (in this panel) option from the panel menu?

as I am typing in character(s) into the search box, as soon as enough characters makes a match (it could be a quick as entering the first character), the focus jumps to the first matched prayer name and the rest of the characters that I type will replace the existing prayer name string in that first match (instead of being added to the search box)

I can't reproduce this - so I am probably not understanding what you are describing.

Can you provide screenshots - or post a video?

    Thanks, Graham
