I have been using Logos since about 2018 when I discovered the phone app. I REALLY appreciate the ability that we have to use the mobile app for free since I use it for my daily Bible reading. The feature that caused me to switch from bible.com to logos is the multi window capability which allows me to have t different books of the Bible open simultaneously and read a chapter per day in each without having to remember each day what chapter I was on in the 4 other books not being displayed. However, even though I am a layman and do not typically use the reference material, as an elder, I am called on to give a mid week service message several times a year as my turn comes around. I would love to use the desktop version for the purpose of preparing these occasional messages but the free version doesn't have the resources to do this. I would be happy to pay for the ability to have all of the Bible versions and a few basic books available so that I could do this , but it would have to be for a price of under $100 per year in order for me to justify the cost vs use. So the reason I am putting this out to the community is wondering how many of the people would be willing to pay a small fee for a more limited desktop access to libraries? Is this something that a lot of you would use if available?

Firstly, I just want to make sure you're familiar with our existing subscriptions: https://www.logos.com/configure/subscriptions?trackId=191

Pro is $15/mo (and Premium is just $10/mo), and may provide sufficient resources for your needs; you could subscribe then cancel several times per year for the occasions you need the extra books and features.

The subscription does not come with all the Bible versions; those have to be purchased separately for use with the desktop application. They're usually priced around $10 each, so buying a handful may still be within your budget (and you'll have a permanent license to them so you won't have to purchase them again next year): https://www.logos.com/search?sortBy=Bestselling&limit=30&page=1&ownership=all&geographicAvailability=all&useFuzzySearch=false&viewMode=list&filters=resourcetype-bibles_Resource%20Type

You might want to try a Pro free trial (if you're eligible) next time you're preparing a message to see if this could work for you.

I recommend looking at the Legacy Libraries. These are collections of resources that were put together for each version going back to Logos 5, but they work with the latest version; they also don't retire a subscription. These can be excellent resources at a fairly low cost; Standard Legacy Libraries are US$40. Look at the Resources Included section for any your interested in to see the Bibles, commentaries and other study aids that are included.

Rather than looking at each one by itself, you may want to look for a specific resource you're interested in, such as a Bible version, and find out what libraries it's included in. That may narrow your search very quickly. There are libraries available for different denominations, so that that may narrow your search even more.

Another option may be buying a Study Bible. I believe most (or all?) versions of Logos come with Fathlife Study Bible, which is fairly good. It does have links to other resources for more information, but some of them are quite expensive. I've been using the NIV Cultural Background Study Bible for a few years. I've also been looking at ESV Study Bible (not the ESV Global Study Bible) and like what I've seen so far.

I hope the people in this group can help stear you in the right direction.
