question about pinning things to the dashboard

I got to say, the more I play around with Logos and customize it, the more I like it! One of the things I have found sort of unexpected to be helpful is pinning that "Devotional Prayer List" card to the dashboard, as it lists all the things in that checklist, giving a preview without actually opening it.
That said, I have a "Memory List" I made a long time ago with literally one verse on it. Small list, but I am wondering if it is possible to pin the memory list to the dashboard, so it would either show the verse or part of it, or the reference similar to the Devotional Prayer List thing?
I thought of trying to make it a workspace, but that wouldn't show the preview like the Devotional Prayer thing.
Thanks for any clarification or ideas anyone has.

I found that modifying the prayer list was sort of able to accomplish this. I think expanding the options for what can be pinned to the dashboard is a good idea for a feature request, similar to adding widgets to the home screen on mobile devices. For example, having the ability to pin a note to the dashboard could be helpful in a variety of use cases.

What great ideas (maybe earlier, but I didn't notice). I've had no use for the 'home' screen … just gets in the way of work. But a quick scripture list is a good idea (even a work-around). I'm thinking scratch-pad for oldies (me) with no memory. I suppose 'Canvas' could also work, in a layout. Messy. Don't even hint 'Notes'.

I wonder why Faithlife never went down that road? (As if they have time on their hands, making a look-alike desktop). Recognizing a severe minority, a verse on my watch would be perfect (already other apps).

Hi @DMB,
I hope this doesn't come across as irreverent, as it is not my intent at all, but have you tried the "Devotional Prayer List" as your scratch-pad? It is truly perfect. You can create a list of everything you want to write down, and then it also has the ability for a sublist. It is defaulted to repeat every day unless you take proactive effort. It is truly perfect. So then if I am literally doing 10 things at the same time and something is coming to my mind to look at later, or class is about to start, I can quickly jot down things coming to my mind and come back to it when I can. Then pin it to the dashboard and without closing your layout you can just click on the dashboard and see your list and then click off it again. My understanding is you can create multiple of these things (so if you already have a prayer list running for a church or something, you can create another one of these things to work like I described). I truly love it. When I am translating a word and can't be interrupted, but I notice something I want to look into, I just jot it down and keep working. Then when I am able to address it, and I am done with the lex or lemma or whatever, I am able to just delete that line (you don't need to have it "answered" you can just delete it if you want).

Hi @Aaron Hamilton,
Thank you for the screenshot! That works great, thank you! I had been busy creating one of those prayer lists to keep my work organized (like I described to @DMB above), but I guess I will create another one for that verse I want to remember. :) That had occurred to me, but since I wasn't sure if there was a way to officially add the memory list without creating everything as a prayer list, I had decided to ask about this. Thank you again for the screenshot.

I agree. I have had several things I would like to pin there, but the memory list provoked me to check and confirm that I wasn't missing something. In addition to adding what can be pinned there, it would be good if there was a way to change the background card for layouts pinned there. For sure not important, but I have 6 layouts pinned there and they are all white.

Thank you, Kristin!
Yep … colorable layouts (or his close cousin, colorable tabs, or colorable books types). Faithlife doesn't like colorable so much (not cool). Proof: the crazy Logosians go wild with the visual filters. It's heart-breakingly fun.

What awesome ideas for the prayer list. I have now set up a couple for different things other than as just a prayer list.

Great idea! I no longer use prayer lists for prayers but I'm happy to use them for tracking other important things specific to Logos. Thanks @Kristin and @Aaron Hamilton 😊
