Search within resource is hit and miss

I like that I can search within an open resource by typing cmd+f to open the Find search bar. The only issue is it's not very accurate. I've noticed this quite a few times that there are words I know for certain are in a resource, but are not detected in this kind of search. It happens with English, Greek, and Hebrew. Sometimes it detects the words, sometimes it doesn't. I prefer this method rather than opening a search window and clicking all the parameters to set it up; this is much easier, but why is it not more accurate? I can't be the only one who's noticed this.

The find box searches down from the current location in the resource. You can use the buttons on the popup box to search up and down from your current position.

Yes, I'm aware of that. It doesn't seem to matter. I can go back to the cover page of a book, and it will still miss some words. For example, in looking at the New American Commentary volume by Lea on the Pastoral Epistles, I know for a fact that the name Schleirmacher is in the book several times. I can go to the title page, type in the name, and the box turns red signaling the word doesn't exist in the work, even though I know it does. This happens about 10% of the time when I'm trying it. Some words it will recognize, some it won't.

I only find Schleiermacher once when I do a regular search (from the search tool, not CTR-F).

Find is very exact. There may be small differences which result in matches not being found. In the case you mentioned regarding "Schleirmacher", the problem is user error. The name should be spelt "Schleiermacher".

Not user error in this case. I only misspelled it here. I even copied it from the document and pasted it into Find and it doesn't find it. This happens on a fairly regular basis, and I always double check my spelling when I'm doing searches. Another example is when I search the book Proper Confidence for the word "inerrancy," Find does not find it. I mentioned that to someone once and they pulled out the print book and showed me where Newbigin uses the word. When I do a regular Search it shows where the word appears but Find doesn't identify it.

I even copied it from the document and pasted it into Find and it doesn't find it.

Can you navigate to the place in the book where the word is that it's not finding. Then use the Copy Location option in the panel menu and paste the url here so that we can see exactly where you are talking about.

Yes. That is the one place in the resource where the text exists. It doesn't exist anywhere else (that I am aware). When you type or paste text into the find box, it finds the next spot as you type. So, if you pasted the text in, it goes to that spot. Then if you hit the "next" or "previous" arrow buttons it's not going to find any more because it's already at the one spot where it can be found.

I'm getting correct results. Note: even spaces matter in the Find box. For example, "Schleiermacher " (with a space) will not work.

I get that. I check for spaces too. This is why this is so frustrating. I try to eliminate every possible error and it still doesn't work. I have tried probably 20 different times with Proper Confidence. I can only get it to find "inerrancy" with a regular Search. With as often as this occurs I just have a hard time believing it's just me.
